We have a current opportunity for a Sustainability & Advocacy Manager on a contract basis to be based in Basrah on a rotational basis (28/28) for a duration of 12 months.

JOB DIMENSIONS
Sustainability presumes that resources are finite and should be used conservatively and wisely with a view to long-term priorities and consequences of the ways in which resources are used. Sustainable practices support ecological, human, and economic health and vitality.
The sustainability & Advocacy Head will work with internal and external stakeholders to define, implement, and monitor performance of a robust sustainability roadmap. Integrating the Sustainable actions in coordination with the assigned champions, measure, and report on the overall sustainability performance of project . Maintain an advocacy mapping and related action plan updated.

ACTIVITIES

1. Sustainability & Strategy Development:
 Develop and refine the company's sustainability strategy and long-term goals.
 Integrate the advocacy management plan in the strategy
 Align sustainability initiatives with business objectives and industry best practices.
 Initiate and maintain smart KPIs to monitor sustainability performance and advise on remediation action plan as
required.
 Embed the Sustainab'All Program KPIs and coordinate the reporting on them.
 Stay up to date with evolving sustainability trends and regulations.
2. Stakeholder Engagement:
 Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including management, departments, suppliers, and community
organizations.
 Establish and maintain positive relationships with sustainability partners and organizations.
 Ensure all advocacy concerns and address in the engagement plan
 Coordinate with COMM team to ensure implementation of the strategy in the media plan
3. Environnemental Impact Reduction:
 Advise HSE & the technical entities on opportunities to reduce the company's environmental footprint including the
reduce of energy consumption, waste generation, and greenhouse gas emissions.
 Work on promoting sustainable sourcing and supply chain practices in coordination with C&P.
4. Social Responsibility:
 Advise the Social Investment & Local Content teams on initiatives to maximise sustainability, including diversity and
inclusion.
 Ensure ethical labour practices within the organization and supply chain.
5. Reporting and Compliance:
 Prepare and submit sustainability reports, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
 Monitor and report on key sustainability performance metrics.
6. Sustainability Education and Training :
 Provide guidance and training to employees and stakeholders on sustainability best practices.
 Foster a culture of sustainability within TEEPRH.
7. Risk Management :

 Help identify potential sustainability-related risks and suggest adapted mitigation strategies.
 Stay informed about emerging sustainability risks and opportunities.
8. Advocacy and Outreach :
 Contribute to sustainability-related forums, conferences, and industry associations.
 Advocate for sustainability initiatives both internally and externally.
 Respond to trending NGOs concerns since weak signals

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Bachelor's or master's degree in Sustainability, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Proven experience in sustainability roles, with a minimum of 7 years in a senior advisory capacity. Strong knowledge of sustainability & ESG principles, frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, SDGs), and industry best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Project management and strategic planning experience. Familiarity with sustainability & ESG reporting and certification systems. Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations. Creativity, open-mindedness, leadership skills, flexibility essential, excellent analytical skills. Strong team player with maturity to build effective partnerships.
Strong focus on delivery of results, ability to work to deadlines.
