We have a current opportunity for a Social Investment Manager on a contract basis to be based in Basra on a rotational basis (28/28) for a duration of 12 months.

JOB DIMENSIONS
An Effective Social Investment Program is an enabler to gain the Social License to Operate and minimize operational and reputational risks. It develops relationship with development stakeholders that are not directly interested in Company operations and will witness Company Citizenship values.
The project Social Investment includes a country-level action (Corporate Image), a contractual obligation with a budget of 5M$/year and the need to coordinate a multi-stakeholder committee. In addition to the voluntary project proximity level program within a large footprint of 110 x 100 km,30+ different communities spread within 5 districts including vulnerable and indigenous groups in a highly tribal environment and other SI actions at national level.

ACTIVITIES

Stakeholder engagement and dialogue
 Identify, engage and maintain relationships with the stakeholders of the social investment's programs (i.e.
Government, Implementing Partners, NGOs, Multilateral Organizations, Communities).
 Coordinate a program targeting local NGOs & SCOs capacity building and inclusion in the SI Program to safeguard
sustainability.
 Ensure positive dialogue with all stakeholders based on listening, respect and understanding, taking local context into
consideration.
 Animate both internal & External Social Investment Committees and the develop the related TORs.
 Animate a staff initiatives and participation forum to ensure a level of participation of staff in the SI initiatives (Action!)
 Ensure that participatory approach is applied with all interested stakeholders, especially targeted beneficiaries.
 Liaise with the Stakeholder Engagement team to ensure Social Investment efforts are captured in the engagements
and with the Communication team to further communicate on the value generated by the Company.
 Periodically revisit and update the SI Talking Points and make sure they are adopted by relevant staff.

Design & implementation of social investment projects
 Develop the Social Investments Strategy and Roadmap in coordination with Local Content team to ensure
complementarity. Ensure Social Strategy is aligned with both Iraq/Basra Development Plans, communities needs and
Company Social Responsibility (CSR) guidelines.
 Develop a program for building the capacity of local development NGOs in consultation with International multilateral
organization.
 Promote co-development of projects with multilateral agencies, NGOs and industrial actors.
 Study feasibility of social investment projects proposed by the Social Investments Committee or defined within the
ESHIA or initiatives proposed by staff.
 Identify opportunities to leverage external funding and/or build on existing initiatives.
 In parallel of the Strategic SI roadmap deployment, ensure agility to sponsor key events and show solidarity in well
selected causes for donation.
 Mobilize staff around SI programs and maximize the opportunities for them to participate.

Monitoring & evaluation
 In coordination with M&E team, design the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework and Key Performance
Indicators (KPI) for the social investment plan and projects inline with SDGs and International Good Practices.
 Develop a governance of steering committees with each strategic program implementing partner to follow up
implementation progress.
 Conducts regular field visits, project close-out survey and report in additional to post close-out survey to measure
impact KPIs.
 Ensure social investment's projects implementation within time and budget.
 Monitors community perception toward company's developmental strategy, programs, and communication. Anticipate any potential conflict related to social investments and immediately inform and propose mitigation measures to hierarchy.

Reporting
 Collect and register all related data within the dedicated software.
 Prepares periodic technical and financial progress reports showing the business value benefits generated by SI.
 Contribute to overall sustainability risk management mapping.
 Coordinate Communication team to efficiently communicate around social investment projects and outcomes.

Management
 Contribute to the recruitment and supervise a team of staff with appropriate experience and competencies able to deliver tangible positive impacts.
 Ensure mentoring and know-how transfer to SI staff.
 Mobilize all project staff around SI programs and maximize the opportunities for them to participate.
 Periodically report to hierarchy on human & financial resources based on SUS set metrics.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in Community Development/ Sustainability/ Anthropology/ Sociology. 10 years of work experience in the design and implementation of local development program either for an international development NGO or agency or within the industry. Advanced project management skills and experience. High level of interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication skills. Empathetic towards sensitive cultural, personal and community issues. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure. Understanding of the economic, political and social dynamics in the area of operation. Good reporting skills. High integrity, capacity to listen, to dialogue essential, superior negotiation and communications skills. Creativity, open-mindedness, leadership skills, flexibility essential, excellent analytical skills. Strong team player with maturity to build effective partnerships across corporate and cultural divides. Strong focus on delivery of results, ability to work to deadlines.
