About the job:

Kent is looking for a Process Control Network Specialist to support our client in Clear Lake, TX.

You will assist in several upcoming network improvement projects as well as with day-to-day management and administration of the control system network.

Your responsibilities:

  • Document and assess current process control network.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement within pipeline process control network infrastructure.
  • Assess current network architecture for compliance with corporate standards.
  • Monitor operational health of network and computer systems and plan for future resource needs.
  • Specify hardware for replacement of obsolete network infrastructure.
  • Manage network device configurations to support optimal performance and security.


Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Qualification/ Certification:

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification is required and a Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or similar field of study is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with router and switch configuration and support is required.
  • Previous experience should include virtual LANs, OSPF routing, TCP/IP addressing, MPLS, NAT, serial communications, 900MZ multi-access radios, microwave radio networks, cellular modems and satellite communications.


Skills Requirement:

  • Work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience in mission control environments is a plus.
  • Windows server and workstation OS administration experience is a plus.


Communication:

  • Effectively communicate priorities and recommendations to all levels within the organization.
