The UX Designer will be responsible for the design of a Software-as-a-Service application for ABS Wavesight and will aid in software development deliverables to meet business needs. The designer will use independent judgement in developing creative solutions to the design of the user experience online and mobile applications. Must have good communication skills, an appreciation for systems lifecycle methodologies, and a commitment to design excellence.

Please note: While the ideal candidate for this role should be open to working our hybrid model, this role may also be open to candidates located outside of Houston on a remote if they are in Central Standard or Eastern Time zones. For the hybrid model, Tuesday - Thursday duties are performed at our corporate headquarters in Spring, Texas. Monday and Friday are remote eligible. The typical schedule consists of 40 hours per week. ABS is in the Springwood Business Park near HWY 99 and I-45.

What You Will Do

• Will work in all aspects of developing and designing UI/UX wireframes from feature, epic and user story descriptions.
• In an agile environment, will collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and project team to structure user interviews, usability studies and incorporate these learnings iteratively into the overall system design.
• Interact with stakeholders, product managers and product owners, developers, and SMEs to ensure designs meet requirements.
• Plan new designs and optimize existing designs.
• Producing design solutions through wireframes, visual / graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and/or prototypes.

What You Will Need

Education and Experience:

• Requires a minimum of 2-5 years' experience in UI/UX Design or similar role
• Requires a Bachelor's degree

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Producing design solutions through wireframes, visual / graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and/or prototypes.
• Proficiency in desktop publishing programs (such as Adobe XD, InVision, Figma, etc.)
• Competency in Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
• Involved in the design or modification of systems or software.
• Test for ease of use and positive experience
• Ensure ABS branding guidance is incorporated into application design as appropriate.
• Must be familiar with the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.

Reporting Relationships

Reports directly to the Director, Product Management or another Manager role.

Working Conditions

The work environment will primarily be an air-conditioned office setting requiring the employee to sit for prolonged periods while talking on the phone, reading from a computer monitor, and typing on a keyboard. In addition, the team member may occasionally lift items that weigh up to 20 pounds. Sometimes, the team member may be asked to travel by way of common transportation to recruiting or other work-related events.
