The Senior Risk Consultant (SRC) in Process Safety is responsible for providing technical expertise and support, primarily to our European operations, managed from the UK. The SRC role is both client facing, to identify opportunities to support clients' needs, whilst also providing technical oversight were required in the delivery of our core risk services, including:
As well as tradition oil, gas and chemical sectors there will also be a focus on emerging clean energy technologies and assisting clients to develop energy transition strategies to meet their stakeholders expectations with respect the climate change.
We are looking for individuals with 10 years of relevant experience in the chemical or petrochemical industries who are technically competent, proactive, ambitious and have good client facing and team management skills. The Senior Risk Consultant (SRC) in Process Safety is responsible for providing technical expertise and support, primarily to our European operations, managed from the UK. - Risk assessment studies e.g. HAZIDs, HAZOPs, LOPAs etc
- Quantified Risk Assessments (QRA)
- Safety and environmental compliance for onshore (COMAH/Seveso) and for Offshore facilities.
- Process Safety Management Training and Auditing
- Process safety culture / human factors
- Consequence Modelling e.g loss of containment of flammables and toxic substances, FERA, OBRA etc

What You Will Do:
- Related to the core services listed above, provide technical review, support and oversight to the Risk Engineering team
- Keep up to date with market needs, emerging technologies and industry issues, and feed this into the wider business development / sales teams.
- Contact prospective customers to understand their needs and introduce products and services.
- Defining "Scopes of Work" to allow clients make more informed decisions.
- Developing and maintaining constructive and cooperative working relationships
- Communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, social media, or by telephone or e-mail.
- Provides day-to-day leadership of technical staff assigned. Assigns projects to other Engineers and monitors the progress of all assigned projects. Ensures the delivery of high quality service and maintenance of good customer relations.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or recognised equivalent required.
- 10 years or more of related experience.
- Hold a valid right to work in the UK.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Technical understanding and practical experience of the majority of the core risk services.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to speak well in group and/or client facing environments. English language fluency to conduct detailed business and technical communication at a professional level.
- Proactive outlook to business development and marketing activities.
- Able to work in a result-driven organization.
- Can assess the reasonableness and likelihood of success of various business scenarios
- Ability to commit to ethical business practices, in full accordance with ABS Group Operating Principles and Mission as well as corporate policies.
- Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.
- The interpersonal skills necessary to maintain positive working relationships and provide mentorship and motivation to subordinate staff and peers.
- Willingness to travel overseas for short periods (usually <1 week)
