VP of Sales and Business Development
Company Industry: Oil & Gas - Midstream Compression

Job Description: Full-time role reporting to the CEO

Location: Candidate must be based in Houston.

Pay: $150,000 Base Pay, Vehicle allowance, Commission Structure based on growth

Experience: 15+ years of management experience. Must have strong power generation experience

Main Responsibility: Grow power generation business

Travel: 3 weeks out of the month. Travel may decline as direct reports in the sales team grow.

Education: Business Degree (Marketing Acceptable)

Ideal Candidate:
  • Must have a strong technical background in power generation
  • Will be responsible for growing our client's power generation vertical
  • He or She does not need to have an oil field background
  • Must have a strong background in Sales & Management
  • Will be running commercial side of organization
  • Must have a Business Degree (Marketing Acceptable)

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and execute comprehensive business development strategies to identify and secure new business opportunities aligned with the company's strategic goals.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of win/loss records and implement initiatives to enhance efficiency and success rates.
  • Participate in pricing strategy development.
  • Demonstrate adaptability to work across diverse industries.
  • Cultivate relationships with potential clients and strategic partners.
  • Establish enduring connections with key decision-makers in targeted organizations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and news to spot emerging business prospects.
  • Attend industry events and networking functions to foster professional relationships.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, and other sales/marketing materials.
  • Mentor and oversee a team of sales representatives.
  • Attain quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Monitor the performance of existing business development initiatives and make necessary adjustments to ensure desired outcomes.
  • Provide regular progress reports to the CEO regarding business development objectives.
  • Develop marketing strategies and plans to enhance brand recognition, enhance customer satisfaction, and increase sales.
  • Create sales plans tailored to specific products and/or services to expand market share.
  • Devise strategies to boost customer loyalty.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Possess an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented.
  • Proven leadership abilities in developing and managing a field-based sales organization.
  • Exceptional collaborative and communication skills with various departments, including Sales Insights and Strategy, Marketing, Finance, and Operations.
  • Over 15 years of management experience.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing business strategies.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership capabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in management, marketing, or a related field.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • MBA or an advanced degree.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
Travel Requirements:
  • 3 weeks of travel out of the month
