ABOUT YOU

You will have experience in working in a fast-paced environment, with great eye for detail, with analytical reporting skills.

Beneficial skills and experience:

• Experience working in a laboratory environment preferably composites related
• Knowledge of mechanical testing, interlaminar shear, overlap shear
• Experience of preparing samples for optical microscopy
• Working knowledge in thermal analysis equipment DSC/DMA

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Key activities:

• Sample preparation for optical microscope and mechanical testing
• Image capture and analysis (microscopy, photography, scanning)
• Material testing by thermal analysis, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA).
• Boeing Wedge Test with data capture and image analysis
• Technical report writing for client review and sign off
• Data-capture/entry/record-keeping e.g. upkeep of specimen-receipt tracker, Sample/specimen archiving/recording/disposal
• HSE - basic audits of HSE related items such as COSHH cabinets.
• Lab stock-checking (hardware/consumables) - Maintaining work areas to 5S standards (lab/workshop) - scheduling equipment calibrations/verifications
