The Opportunity:
The SMP Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the execution and coordination of all structural, mechanical, and piping activities on an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) project. This role requires strong technical expertise in SMP disciplines, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to ensure adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations.

In this role, you will undertake the following duties:

• Develop detailed work plans and schedules for SMP activities in coordination with the project team.
• Coordinate with engineering and procurement departments to ensure timely availability of materials, equipment, and drawings for SMP construction.
• Monitor the progress of SMP activities and take corrective actions to meet project milestones.
• Supervise a team of SMP Supervisors and craft workers, providing clear instructions, guidance, and support.
• Ensure that the team is adequately trained and possesses the required skills and certifications to perform their tasks safely and efficiently.
• Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and high performance among the SMP workforce.
• Implement quality control procedures and ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and reviews of SMP installations to identify and address any quality issues promptly.
• Coordinate with the Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QA/QC) team to resolve non-conformances and implement corrective actions
• Promote a strong safety culture and enforce HSE policies and procedures on-site.
• Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and implement preventive measures to avoid their recurrence.
• Act as a liaison between the project management team, engineering, procurement, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Provide regular progress reports, including updates on schedules, budgets, and potential risks or delays.
• Collaborate with other discipline superintendents to ensure effective integration of SMP activities with other construction activities.
