Role Synopsis

The PSCM Operational Procurement team provides support to a diverse range of stakeholders. The key challenges for the team are ensuring that full and timely support is provided to the operations in Iraq, whilst satisfying the framework for cost recovery under which the Iraq Region operates.

The PSCM Senior Operational Procurement Specialist role will include sourcing and contracting for various Procurement Purchase Orders and Agreements (Operations, Engineering, Maintenance etc.) that are needed to ensure that end users and PSCM are fully aligned and working towards agreed plans.

Key Accountabilities

• Sourcing specialist for Operational Procurement Category.
• Accountability along with Category Lead in liaising with business stakeholders for allocated commodities & services.
• Development of supplier management process & relationships.
• Programme management, activity tracking & performance reporting.
• Supporting Procurement specialists in expediting & issue resolution.

Criteria & Qualifications

• Degree qualified or equivalent preferred and/or 8 years relevant industry experience.
• CIPS qualified or working towards.
• Experience of working independently to design and organize tenders. Ability to distinguish the quality level and standards of suppliers /contractors and propose appropriate evaluation model.
• Effective communication skills and ability to coordinate internally with user departments and externally with suppliers/contractors.
• Effective negotiation skills with suppliers/contractors on lead time, cost and quality.
• Procurement expediting experience.
• Oil & Gas or Manufacturing industry experience.
• Global / Multi-national business experience.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office products i.e., Word, PowerPoint & Excel.
• Sourcing & tendering experience, including use of e-sourcing tools e.g. Ariba.
• Being able to work under pressure and stringent time constraints.
• Team player as well as working under own initiative.
