The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Project Controls Manager to join our Brisbane Projects team. The Project Controls Manager (PCM) reports to the Project Director. The PCM is accountable for ensuring the project he is on that is being undertaken by Kent adhere to established project controls as defined within Kent QA system. Project controls comprises schedule, resourcing, cost, variation and quality assurance control and are defined within formal local procedures, work instructions, checklists and templates.

The PCM is required to operate effectively within a matrix organisation to support the discipline Managers in their roles. In particular the PCM will work closely with the Project Director to deliver the project on time, within budget and to the required quality and ensure financial reporting and control for the project is managed and reported accurately and timely noting that there is a direct link between project summary reporting and the business unit accounts.

The responsibilities will include;
  • Safety leadership
  • Accountable for the creation and maintenance of appropriately detailed and realistic project schedules and associated reporting to ensure Clients are informed as to project timelines, physical progress, key interfaces, defined milestones and productivity measures as applicable.
  • Management of cost budgets and variations to ensure the financial health of the project. Financial reporting will be through Kent Project Summary Reports (PSRs) which are completed monthly.
  • Adherence to Kent's QA system, including continuous improvement and resolution of issues as they arise to Client and Kent satisfaction.
  • Timely and accurate internal and external project reports and audits covering cost, schedule and any QA issues.
  • Management of project cost and schedule information at client level.
  • Continuous review, update and improvement of existing procedures, work instructions, checklist and templates as required.
  • Continuous review of projects controls systems, tools, process and competencies ensuring Kent are capable to execute projects of increasing size and complexity. This includes projects undertaken with Perth based resources and resources from Kent's international offices.
  • Profitable growth of service capability and capacity
  • Line Management duties for assigned staff (refer separate role line management requirements)
