About the job:

Kent is recruiting a Construction Engineer. You will be responsible for developing and implementing Construction Work Packs and Construction Scopes of Work. You will develop project-specific procedures based on the Kent Integrated Management System, and establish Work Packaging for Temporary Facilities, Earth, Piling, Civil trenching Concrete, works, of construction activities for both Brown Fields and Green Fields work scope. You will be reporting to the Construction Manager and work closely with the Engineering team.

• Prepare Work Packs and Scopes of Work to meet the goals and objectives set out by KENT

• Ensure Construction activities defined are in compliance with KENT policies, standards, procedures, and commitments

• Identify work that can be grouped and executed in parallel to optimize the schedule and efficiency of construction activities

• Support the planning and execution of the construction-sequenced activities

• Assist with the development of look-ahead programs.

• Assist with raising TQs, variations, and delay notices.

• Review and monitor the availability of drawings, specifications, job instructions, material deliveries and tools applicable to his/her particular discipline and area of work.

• Ensure that the Work Packs are presented to workers in such a way that they are supported in understanding the works to be undertaken

• Assist with risk assessment for construction activities.

• Assist with the preparation of work method statements.

• Perform other duties within the organization that may be necessary to suit operational requirements Perform other duties within the organisation that may be necessary to suit operational requirements.

• Ability and willingness to provide technical support, mentoring and guidance to the team.

• Maintain effective client relationships and networks and generate opportunities.

• Prioritises safety and takes action to ensure zero harm to all employees, clients, contractors, the business, and the environment.

• Demonstrate and apply technical skills to prepare proficient, accurate and timely technical documentation and reports in area of technical discipline.

• always taking personal accountability for own safety and being aware of the impact of actions on the safety of others

• complying with all Company HSEQ policies and procedures & influencing others accordingly

• demonstrating commitment to HSE through personal example and behaviours, visible and accountable leadership, and participation in monitoring of established working practices

• immediately reporting any injury, incident, near miss or unsafe behaviour encountered during work.

Interfaces

• Support team and other staff members on matters relating to timely delivery of Project

• Client/collaborator interaction with respect to teaming for strategic pursuits.

Qualification/ Certification:

• Minimum 8 years of experience in multi-discipline and Construction related roles

• Trade or relevant tertiary qualifications

• Knowledgeable of current industry and technical developments.

• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills

• Familiarisation with Construction activities risk Assessments, SWMS, and Permit to Work

• Strong technical and analytical skills to provide solutions on site

• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and procedures

• Technical background in Mechanical, Civil, Environment would be an advantage

• Ensure proactive qualities demonstrating HSE talents

• Proven track record with recognized international standard contracting companies.

• Capability to accept responsibilities and accomplish project objectives in a timely

manner.

• Computer literate especially with Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Take responsibility for your own safety, uphold the Company OHS&E policies and participate in Company OHS&E initiatives

Core Competencies:

• Multidiscipline experience suitable for Site Construction activities

• At least 8years of industry experience.

• Oil and Gas , Mining experience is considered an asset.

• Excellent time management skills, ability to work to strict deadlines and manage multiple tasks.

• Excellent understanding of relevant software programs, including the Microsoft 365 suit and industry specific software and databases.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Work closely as part of a team with both colleagues within the department and the construction team.
