Our client is currently seeking a Field Operations Engineer to support the pre-FID phase of a major offshore project, with both deep and shallow water discoveries.

This would be a minimum of 18 months contract, but up to 4.5 years after FPSO, SURF and SPS package contracts are awarded.

The technical challenges the project will face are the reservoirs development and
management, the FPSO design and subsea production/injection system definition.

The Project team will be developed with the objectives to maximize economical results by optimizing the reserves, the schedule, reducing the costs and the Greenhouse Gas emissions, while maintaining the technical quality of the installations, with high H3SE requirements and focus.

The overall responsibility of the Field Ops Engineer is to act as the focal point towards EPC Contractors for any matter pertaining to the Field Operations objectives, in accordance with project procedures, Company Ops Guidelines and Procedures and using the best work practices, with the objective of remaining within the agreed budget and schedule.

Main activities:
  • Supports the FPSO and UFR/SPS team overall activities during (pre-) FEED phase to ensure availability, operability, maintainability and inspectabiltiy are well taken into account in the design.
  • Liaises with entities to ensure Field Operations topics are properly reviewed and commented.
  • Participate in technical reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, workshops, ad hoc meeting as appropriate
  • Ensure the timely review of the FEED contractor engineering documents from Field Operations perspective.
  • Participates to the development of the Field Operations philosophy.
  • Contributes to the Operations Readiness preparations in accordance with the Field Operations roadmap.
  • Contributes to the O&M Contract and Exhibits preparation and participate to the clarifications phase.

Required experience:
  • Fluent in both English and French language
  • Professional Experience: At least 15 years
  • Experience within projects: At least 10 years
  • High experience in Oil & Gas contracts writing, negotiating and managing.
  • Engineer with at least 10 years of experience in Oil & Gas operations in deep offshore environment with demonstrated skills in main disciplines such as Production, Process, and Safety with proven ability to support engineering activities.
  • Excellent communication skills, dynamism, high motivation, ability to convince, organized, leadership and ability to put issues into perspective
  • Naval skills and experience in FPSO engineering & construction is a plus.
