The UAV -Drone Entry Level Field Specialist is a multi-skilled field specialist to be trained in UAV Services & Data Processing.

In UAV Services, The Entry Level Field Specialist will assist and work to be a certified part 107 UAS pilot responsible for executing all aspects of UAV missions including UAV mission flying, GPS ground control point capture and other field tasks as needed. The UAV Field Specialist will fly a variety of field missions including Surveying & Mapping, Visual asset inspection, Thermal inspections etc. In addition, the UAV Entry Level field specialist will assist with data processing and deliverable preparation.

Successful Candidate will have diverse computer skills such as CAD and Excel.

How you'll make an impact at Intertek:
  • Utilizes expert knowledge of hardware/software in all industries; including automotive, aerospace, petrochemical, power generation, medical, etc.
  • Execute UAV Projects/3D Scanning and additional field duties as needed.
  • Maintain UAVs/3D scanning equipment in optimal condition.
  • Processing, Photo, Video, Photogrammetry, LIDAR or other types of point cloud data in various software programs depending on client deliverables.
  • Compile and submit daily reports, inspection reports, and inter-office communications including completed performance/inspection reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintains a positive relationship between client, facility, and customer; and promote a positive attitude towards coworkers.
  • Ensures that all Intertek and site safety policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Receives direction from AISS Team Lead and works with other AISS technicians.

What it takes to be successful in this role:
  • 14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is a plus
  • Survey/GIS field experience and related software is a plus Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, and Outlook is required
  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal and listening) and solid interpersonal skills are required
  • Work well under pressure and understands deadlines
  • Be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines
  • Able to pass Annual, recurring and random Drug tests comprising of Urine, Hair, Breathalyzer tests etc.
  • Able to pass background checks for the purpose of qualifying for TWIC Cards
  • Must possess the fundamental technical and administrative skills required to perform the job duties
  • Must be customer focused and quality driven
  • Able to work weekends / overtime if needed
  • Current Drivers License With Reliable Driving Record
  • Travel domestic and international (up to 50%) passport required

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
  • Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
