Job Purpose
• Support Field Operations in meeting production targets and optimizing process performance.
• Provide process engineering input to support the Projects department during FEED (Front End Engineering Design) and EPIC (Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning) phases of facilities construction and/or upgrading.
• Evaluate integrity of process system components and recommend corrective action as required.
1)Provide debottlenecking and modification project support.
1. Develop Scope of Work (SOW), PFD, P and ID, specifications, data sheets, Cause and Effect Chart and other documents for de-bottlenecking and modification projects.
2. Provide engineering support for all the production and process and multi-disciplinary integration aspects of existing plant modification design, commissioning, operability and maintainability.
2)Support Projects department to ensure that all FEED and EPIC projects are executed according to the schedules, budget provisions and quality standards set forth in their respective contracts.
1. Develop Scope of Work (SOW) and Design Basis documents related to process performance and optimization, and pass on to Engineering Manager with comments and recommendations.
2. Provide technical input to be used by the Projects department during the tendering, bidding and contracting process.
3. Assist the Project Management Team in monitoring contractors and vendors quality of work and HSE performance. Review technical concession or deviation requests from contractors or vendors and recommend the appropriate response. Maintain complete and proper document control during all project phases, up to and including handover and post-contract follow-up.
3)Apply sound engineering practices to facilitate the safe and cost-effective planning and execution of engineering activities.
1. Generate Scope of Work and Design Basis preparation for process engineering activities.
2. Apply computer simulation models and other advanced techniques to achieve optimal process system performance.
3. Adhere to all applicable international codes and standards, as well as HSE requirements, in carrying out departmental activities.
4. Research and monitor advances in process engineering and process safety technology and recommend their application where appropriate.
4)Support field operations staff in meeting production targets and optimizing process performance.
1. Monitor actual versus forecast production and develop plans for facilities upgrades needed to meet future targets.
2. Develop facilities and equipment capacity and performance tests and identify present and future bottlenecks based on production forecasts.
3. Identify deviations from normal or planned process operating conditions and work with field staff to remove bottlenecks and optimize system performance.
4. Follow up on trials of new production chemicals; check and monitor their performance, and issue relevant reports and recommendations in conjunction with field operations personnel.
5)Reporting: Prepare reports in support of department activities.
1. Prepare high-level reports for executive management, providing clear advice on improvements for both compliance and methodologies and best practice to generate efficiency.
2. Prepare reports containing observations, comments and recommendations based on audit work performed.
6)Coaching, Training and Mentoring: Actively contribute to the development of staff.
1. Support department staff in meeting needs for employee training, development and skill gap closure.
2. Coach employees in order to build their knowledge and skills.
3. Mentor staff to ensure appropriate succession management.
4. Motivate employees by encouraging, recognizing and rewarding superior performance.
