OVERVIEW
The Technology Group provides inputs to technology projects and proposals. Technology projects and proposals are defined as those which include the provision of process performance guarantees and/or the supply of proprietary equipment.
The Technology Group is also responsible for the following activities:
Managing the activities in the UK Operating Centre for Research & Development projects
Providing technical support to Sales
Identifying potential new prospects that the company may exploit and develop
Providing technical input to the proposals group, for the maintenance of experience lists, brochures and other proposal materials
The preparation and maintenance of UK Operating Centre procedures and other technology standard documents
Working with the Technology groups in other offices to ensure consistency of design standards and methodology
Working with other offices to share best working practices and experience
Provide recommendations and inputs into the production of work orders and R&D projects for the development of technical expertise
Preparing papers and making presentations for T.EN technologies supported by the UK office
TECHNOLOGY ROLE FOR FURNACE PROJECTS
The Technology Group includes the Furnace Group, which provides the process and mechanical designs for ethylene cracking furnaces and provides the general project technology inputs for furnace projects.
The function of this group is to:
Produce furnace designs for grassroots furnace and revamp projects
Produce studies as required by clients
Produce furnace guarantees
Perform and check detailed calculations and issue project documents
Interface with engineering disciplines and departments as required
Interface with suppliers for equipment design and supply as required
Further the development of the furnace technology
Improve the methods that are used to determine the process design of furnaces
REQUIREMENTS FOR ROLE
Chemical Engineering degree
5-15 years experience in fired heater, boiler or furnace design
Supervisory skills
Strong work ethic and ability to problem-solve
Interest in technology and design career
