Energy Policy Senior Specialist
Job Description
Job Purpose
• The Senior Energy Policy Specialist is in charge of communicating any key milestones or ongoing initiatives for developing sector-related policies across the energy sector. This involves identifying the audience and key stakeholders who may be affected by new or changes to policies and leveraging the different communication methods to communicate the given update.
• In addition, the Senior Energy Policy Specialist is responsible for working closely with the Policy Development team to ensure that policies, strategies, and plans are drafted and completed accurately for relevant stakeholders.
Job-specific Responsibilities
Support and facilitate policy development procedures at all stages of policy development.
Manage strategic communications plans to ensure timely execution of deliverables outlined related to a new policy or new policy development.
Manage policy review and assist the policy development team in drafting policies and plans in line with DoE's strategic direction and considering the stakeholders involved in the process.
Work closely with the Policy Development Director and other Department of Policy Development members to support and execute timely, thorough, and clear strategic communications plans that engage all the relevant stakeholders, facilitate buy-in, and address questions about significant policy initiatives.
Work closely with the Legal & Legislative Department to ensure the alignment of water sector policies and plans with the set legislations and laws.
Collaborates with the quality team to carry out inspections and examinations to meet the quality standards of the Company
Build collaborative, cross-directorate team relationships to establish communications strategies and ensure a consistent message for targeted audiences (both internal and external).
Work with the support of the Communications Department by providing content on new policies and/or policy development to the Communications Department, who assist in the creation of deliverables outlined in Company's communications plans.
Manage the review and approval process with key stakeholders before releasing communication materials relating to new policy initiatives within DoE and the energy sector.
Building excellent working relationships with various departments and sections within the Company's and stakeholders.
Promote and maintain the Department's right image while conducting business ethically and professionally.
Prepare reports and presentations on energy-related issues.
Profile Description
Job Requirements -
-Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline e.g Public Policy, Social Policy, or Communication.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a related field
- Preferably UAE National
