Candidate Profile

• Minimum 5 years of recognized experience in the marine industry, within and outside the company, in various responsibilities related to the marine industry, ideally in contact with LNG carriers or large LNG facilities

• Naval Architect, Senior Merchant Navy Officer or Engineer training required

• Previous experience in construction and/or repair shipyard for LNGC (liquefied natural gas carrier) or working in class companies or working for a shipowner

• Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and associated maintenance costs

• Knowledge of key clauses in Newbuilding and charter contracts

• Excellent written and spoken English, including a good understanding of marine technical and shipbuilding terminology

Activities

Within the Marine & Architecture Structure department, OneTech is looking for an experienced Marine Project Engineer to supervise the technical management of chartered LNG carriers and support R&D projects related to innovation and decarbonization of maritime transport. As part of the ShipGas team, you will bring charterer expertise to optimize the safety and efficiency of ships, and actively contribute to the development of maritime projects for all branches of TotalEnergies.

As an experienced Marine Project Engineer, you will be brought to:

  • provide technical support to affiliate chartering liquefied gas vessels (LNG, CO2, NH3, H2, etc.)
  • participate in projects by providing the necessary shipping expertise: fleet sizing, marine study, shipping cost estimate

Actively involved in the development of maritime projects for all branches of TotalEnergies, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical expertise and operational support in maritime operations to LNG Shipping department, Customer Lines, project teams and subsidiaries (including Joint Ventures (JV)).
  • Ensuring significant HSE support to operations and projects: marine insurance, risk analysis, audits, incident investigations, regulatory monitoring, implementation of good practices, etc.
  • representing the maritime transport/shipping technical discipline both internally and externally in front of various stakeholders: charterers owners/operators of LNG carriers, shipyards, suppliers of maritime equipment/services, engineering, port authorities and terminal authorities, public and industrial bodies
  • developing and promoting innovation in the field of maritime transport, particularly on the new themes associated with the energy transition (CO2, hydrogen, ammonia, propulsion, etc.): development of R&D studies, technological watch, relationship with suppliers and manufacturers,...
  • Contributing to the development, drafting, updating and management of the technical referential documents in the shipping discipline.
