About us

At Subsea7, we take pride in being recognized globally as a leader across the Energy Industry, with over 80 nationalities across more than 30 countries. For 5 decades our people have delivered over 1000 projects in all water depths across our energy hubs and we continue to do so, adapting and evolving in an ever-changing world.

Our success and sustainability are only made possible by continuing to develop our assets and technology through innovation and collaboration, and most importantly through the development and diversity of our people who every day 'Make Incredible things Happen' at Subsea7.

Your mission

Within the "Global Projects Centre" (GPC), Subsea 7's center of excellence for executing large-scale projects worldwide, the "Structure and Piping Design" department specializes in the design and analysis of offshore structures in the energy sector. This department primarily focuses on the engineering of technically challenging deepwater fields. It takes on various related tasks, including support for installation and fabrication. Furthermore, we have the capability to support renewable energy projects (fixed or floating offshore). Our studies encompass the entire lifecycle, from the upstream conceptual phase to the execution phase, including installation and construction stages.

The design and fabrication of subsea structures require to connect steel structural elements such as plates, shells and beams by the mean of connection assemblies. These can be welded connection or bolted connections. The sizing of these connections follows internationals codes such as Eurocode, DNV or AISC.

The internship will consist at first stage to understand and analyze the functionalities of subsea structures and their method of assembly during fabrication.

Then the intern will realize calculation spreadsheets for the various welded connections in agreement with codes using Mathcad and/or Excel.

Your profile

This internship is intended for a final-year engineering student, with a mechanical engineering and/or steel construction background. A strong knowledge of structural calculations for steel construction and strength of materials is mandatory. The ability to properly read and understand industrial drawings is necessary for this internship.

The intern shall demonstrate autonomy, dynamism, precision and, most importantly, creativity to propose solutions that bring significant benefits.

The main tasks to be achieved by the trainee will be:

Analyze the functionalities of subsea structures and their fabrication methodology,

Realize calculation spreadsheets for welded connections as per codes,

Conceive the interface of spreadsheets for the user,

Integrate this study in a process of standardization,

Write an engineering document to present the works performed during the internship.

Location

Internship is based in Suresnes (92), France.

Duration

6 months

Subsea 7 is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, committed in creating a diverse workforce and we look to offer excellent career opportunities as you develop your skills and aspirations.
