Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior/Principal Instrument & Control Engineer - Analyser Specialist - Contract. The role will be based in Reading working a part of the PMC team, managing, reviewing and supporting technical input into the design and procurement activities being conducted by the EPC contractors on the project.

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior/Principal C&I Engineer- Analyser Specialist . The role will be based in Reading working a part of the PMC team for Saudi Aramco, managing, reviewing and supporting technical input into the design and procurement activities being conducted by the EPC contractors on the project.

Workscope:

  • Review of specifications and material requisitions for analytical and metering systems
  • Analytical equipment, Process Analysers, Analyser shelters, Analyser Management And Data Acquisition Systems, Laboratory Information Management Systems, Continuous Emissions Monitoring systems and interfaces to plant safeguarding, control and monitoring systems
  • Review Vendors' quotations prepare comments on technical quotation evaluation by EPC and recommend the final technically acceptable Vendor. Technically approve as necessary
  • Working closely and directly for client personnel
  • Attend co - ordination meetings and engineering review meetings with Vendors of major equipment as required
  • Liaise with other Groups and Client as necessary
  • Advise the Discipline manager / Chief C&I Engineer of any major slippages and their causes, all policy matters, major technical problems and unresolved differences with other Groups, and requests for changes by the Client which may constitute a contract change
  • Prepare, review and provide technical input into project deliverables to the required quality standards in conformance with or better than, the approved budget and programme
  • To provide relevant knowledgeable practical skills in the response and actions for:
    • Site visits and site surveys
    • Site queries and discussions
    • Supplier, vendor, contractor, client and site related discussions
    • Site based activities
    • Factory acceptance testing, integration testing, SATs and commissioning of analyser systems

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Engineering Degree
  • Field Instruments and Control System background experience
  • Experienced with Detail Design - Modifications projects
  • Experience of working to customer specifications and international standards
  • Technically astute and conversant with the lasted advances in technology
  • Ability to deliver documentation that is technical correct to the required standard and schedule
  • Ability to develop subcontract requisitions where applicable
  • Experience in a similar role within the contractor environment is essential
  • Prior experience reviewing and approving Engineering Deliverables
  • Capability to deliver major projects from specification through hardware and instrumentation design, control, safety and fire and gas applications design and definition to networking and interface solutions using multiple different DCS and SCADA / PLC solutions
  • Experience of working with various communication networks, such as Profibus, DeviceNet, Modbus RTU / TCP, EtherNet / IP etc.
  • HEXAGON Smart Instrumentation (SPI) experience highly valuable
