Duties & Responsibilities:
- Represent ARM organization in Saudi Arabia to government agencies such as Customs, the Ministry of Industry and Energy, SASO, and the Tax Authority.
- Coordinate with and monitor ARM's Customs brokers to ensure that all ARM clearance processes and requirements are followed.
- Support logistic operation teams on SASO/SABER regulated products.
- Introduce and roll out LOI process for all ARM's imports and have a centralized control on customs declarations filed where ARM is either importer or exporter on record.
- Support logistics teams and brokers to ensure the effective use of temporary admission procedures whenever applicable and ensure that temporary admission deposits or guarantees are returned on time.
- Liaise with Saudi Customs on HS classification issues and disputes and communicate the results and rulings to Classification team.
- Work with ARM's regional and international compliance team to maintain a common and standard approach regarding customs compliance.
- Provide guidance and support to all Business Units and departments of ARM in the event of an audit initiated by Saudi Customs.
- Ensure each department has a document retention process and system and the documents can be retrieved upon request.
- Reconciling Customs Entry Records.
- Monitoring and supporting ARM's industrial exemption application with Ministry of Industry.
- Evaluating and controlling ARM's use of duty suspension and duty exemption programs.
- Proactively implement controls to ensure ARM's compliance with local and international regulations, subject to approval by the Chief Compliance Officer.
- Identify compliance training requirements in Saudi Arabia.
- Act on pre-alerts and identify special permit requirements and take measures to obtain the permits before shipments arrive or coordinate with shippers to isolate such items from shipments if they are likely to cause delays or issues.
- Monitor Bank guarantee deposit with customs and inform deposit status to the respective concern person / dept head before expiry.
- Responsible for maintaining ARM's records regarding Customs transactions, to ensure an effective and efficient response to any internal or external audit.
- Co-ordinate with colleagues and update them with their enquiries related to customs and other local authority.
- Continues reporting to line manager to update on customs important activities new procedure and implementation.
- Recognize and resolve potential concerns arising from valuation, country of origin markings, and HS classifications.
- Identify potential opportunities for tariff reduction and exemption.
