Position Summary
Purpose
The purpose of this role is to produce high-quality documentation meeting customer requirements that contributes to the overall success of our products. The role will involve working within a team of Technical writers who work collaboratively with Subject Matter Experts, quality engineers and Product managers to make the Document creation an exciting journey to learn, grow and nurture your career prospective.
Duties & Responsibilities
Functions
ESSENTIAL:
• Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
• Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended requestor
• Write easy-to-understand user interface text
• Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
• Create and maintain the information architecture and develop and maintain templates for documents.
• Create user documentation for a variety of material, including how-to guides and instruction manuals. Ensure technical verbiage is easy to understand by the layperson.
• Publish documents as per required formats.
• Gather information and Coordinate with subject matter experts to develop, organize, and prepare Documentation like procedures, manuals, technical specifications, and processes.
• Work with development and support leads to identify all documentation repositories, revise, and edit, and determine the best solution for data compilation and centralized storage. Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation
• Responsible for documentation, tracking & monitoring of all created documents to ensure timely delivery of the requests
• Assist other Oceaneering offices in India & other locations for creating documents.
• Maintain and update internal manuals and instructions, ensuring that they are accurate, comprehensive, and easy to understand.
• Update service documents, including manuals, guides, and instructions, following the completion of service projects.
• Develop training materials for various purposes including commissioning engineering documents, Confluence HLS procedures, onboarding resources, and other training modules.
Mapping/creation/ improvement/updating for the following:
• Procedures
• Process
• Warranty
• Repairs
• Improve/update maintenance, service requests
• Slogan, business proposition and scope of work.
• Able to produce institutional documents and presentations
• Products slide deck general and specifics
• Prepare brochures, flyers etc.
NON-ESSENTIAL
• Should be open to travel as per business needs
• Participates in meetings during absence of team leads
Supervisory Responsibilities-
• This position has NO supervisory responsibilities

REQUIRED
• Bachelor's degree in relevant technical field
• 2-4 years' industry experience as an effective technical writer
• Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics
• Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences
• Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
• Experience working with engineering to improve user experience: design, UI, and help refine content and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content
• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills
• Able to work independently, & willing to work in rotational shifts.
DESIRED
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization.
• Firm understanding of the systems development life cycle (SDLC).
• Experience in managing documentation on MS SharePoint:
Knowledge & support experience for Windows OS, Active Directory, MS Office Applications, Outlook & computer hardware
• Teamwork & Interpersonal skills
• Analytical, problem solving & decision-making skills
• Organizing & planning skills
