JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently recruiting for an offshore Subsea Control Room Operator with previous international experience of working on a large-scale offshore oil and gas installation.

The position is based in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea.

The normal working rotation 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off,

Responsible for monitoring and operating subsea wells performing well test of subsea wells while using methanol / meg injection for hydrate mitigation, operating a MEG Recovery Unit and a MEG Reclamation Unit, monitor and adjust Meg injection rates for hydrate mitigation during normal flow, understand subsea equipment modules, monitor topside controls panels for subsea equipment, pull data from the subsea controls panels for third-party trouble shooting during issues. Understand subsea hydraulics controls. A key function of the role will be to train and mentor a small team of national employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Accountabilities:
  • Reporting to on shift Production Supervisor
  • Monitoring and controlling the remote operation of the subsea wells and production systems, including, performing emergency corrective action as required.
  • Operating in compliance with 30 CFR operating limits, regulations, standards, procedures, and codes.
  • Maintain appropriate records and documents and submit reports as required.
  • Work effectively in a team environment to monitor, log, resolve, and escalate operation and safety issues.
  • Maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • As a member of a busy team, actively assist with additional projects as required or requested by supervisor.
  • Operates, maintains, and repairs all facility equipment, quarters and activities on a daily basis which include good housekeeping, parts and material storage, record keeping, shipping and receiving.
  • Operates, monitors, tests, and maintains all process equipment and safety devices from the wellhead to the sales line.
  • Monitors the performance of personnel, wells and production equipment to maximize recovery; Calculates daily rates, complete well testing, and reports production information; Determines gravity of condensate and salinity of water and troubleshooting to deliver the maximum sales quality and quantity of gas, oil and/or condensate to sales line and to discharge produced water containing less than 29 ppm hydrocarbons overboard within the capabilities of the equipment.
  • Mentoring and training of local personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Technical training to Degree, HNC or equivalent qualification
  • NVQ or SVQ Process Hydrocarbons
  • BOSIET / MEDICAL / MIST training
  • Emergency Response Team Training
Job Specific Skills:

  • Candidates are required to have several years previous offshore Control Room Operator experience working on deep water, subsea gas production installations.
  • Experience of subsea operations
  • Must be able to support the objective with growing capability of the National Workforce, provide mentoring and training.
Experience:

  • Proactive in addressing safety issues and mitigating risk within day-to-day operations
  • Competent in Functional Safety (Safety Case) requirements
  • Proficient with IEC 61508/61511 and/or Performance Standards
  • Understand the Joule-Thomson effect extensively
  • Familiarity with Turbo-Expansion and Re-Compression
  • Executing procedures for Normal Start-up, Planned Shutdown, Unplanned Shutdown, Preparation for Maintenance and Emergency Response.
  • Knowledgeable in both Subsea and Topsides Operations and Safety Systems
  • Knowledge with MEG Reclamation
  • Knowledge with TEG Reclamation
  • Subsea Hydraulic Controls
  • Proficient in the following operating conditions such as, not limited to, Flow Assurance practices, working with ultra-low temperatures in Gas Processing, and Hydrate Mitigation (Methanol Recovery Units)
PC Application Skills:

  • IT literate with proficiency Microsoft Applications
