JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is recruiting for a Rigging and Lifting Supervisor to support the team in Equatorial Guinea on a rotational basis. The Rigging and Lifting Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision and safe execution of all rigging and lifting activities and management of Inspections/certifications for Offshore & Onshore.

Develop, communicate, and maintain Rigging & Lifting plans for all operations, onshore and offshore, including routine maintenance, TAR, Construction, and complex activities where applicable.

The position will identify suitable personnel for training to competent Lifting and Rigging standards / competencies, identify / assist with training and competency program development for Rigging and Lifting and mobile equipment inspectors.

Mobile equipment training and competency assessments for all mobile equipment operators within the onshore Gas plant facility and will support the offshore platforms and other operations plants within the facility as required.

Mentor and develop Local personnel under their direct supervision to agreed competency levels and development goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensures all activities under their control are performed in line with company polices, standards and procedures- aligned with good industry practice.
2. Ensures activities under their control comply with safety and environmental regulations.
3. Identifies suitable candidates for training Lifting and Rigging standards / competencies from within the workforce.
4. Assists in the development of a suitable training program and provides mentoring and coaching to achieve nationalisation targets.
5. Provides Banksman/Slinger mentoring for all relevant offshore and onshore personnel.
6. Develops and communicates rigging and lifting plans.
7. Supports offshore facilities with development of rigging plans and assists with complex lift execution as required.
8. Facilitate all Mobile equipment training and competency assessments for Tele handlers, Mewps, Stackers, excavators, dump trucks etc. And keep up to date training competency logs
9. Undertake all tasks as required for a working supervisor
10. Actively participates in maintenance activity planning and scheduling for their department.
11. Supports construction activities onshore and offshore as required.
12. Acts as Focal point for discipline related contractors on site.
13. Development of TAR job packs for activities within their department, including interfaces with other departments and functions as required
14. Supervision for execution of TAR activities within department, including management of resources and manpower.
15. Directly manages the day to day allocation of work activities for their department and ensures that all activities are suitably resourced
16. Involved in the review, development and improvement of Rigging & Lifting maintenance procedures and practices relevant to their discipline.
17. Responsible for identifying training and development needs for their direct reports and others, and ensures competency training activities are being completed as required.
18. Participate in internal maintenance strategy reviews as required
19. Identify, share and implement efficiencies in maintenance delivery for their respective department
20. Responsible for delivery of maintenance KPi's under their direct influence
21. Acts as discipline role model for all aspects of the competency system and process.
22. Audits safety rules and procedures to ensure they are being followed.
23. Complies with all Safety Rules and Regulations by following in-place procedures and SPMs.
24. Supports Responsible Operations Management System (ROMS) and Process Safety Management (PSM) processes by personal involvement in activities to enhance performance in Health, Environment, Safety and Corporate Social Responsibility.
25. Undertakes Additional or other duties will be assigned from time to time by the line manager as required to meet business needs including personal training and development assignment opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a similar role within the onshore/offshore Oil and Gas industry
  • Relevant OSHA 1926 or SI 1998 (LOLER) Qualified
  • Rigging & lifting Equipment Inspection and Maintenance Qualified - Preferred
  • Relevant Training/Mentoring Qualification - preferred
  • Competency Assessor Skills - preferred
  • Microsoft Office - report writing
  • SAP PM - preferred
  • English - written and spoken - essential.
  • Spanish - conversational preferred
