The Consulting Organization has a unique opportunity to grow its portfolio of offers into forensic engineering focused on water damaged equipment. We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to specialize in this field while developing a supplemental skill set in performing arc flash studies. Presently, we are engaged in various forensic evaluations dealing with equipment that have been damaged by water, sand, or other contaminants. You will lead the technical aspects of the current investigations and will be the key player in any other forensic engineering offers we develop. During periods of time when forensic analysis orders are slow, you will perform short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies for installed base systems.

The Consulting Forensic Engineer will become the technical leader and mentor supported by the Claims Management specialist on these projects. In this model, the Forensic Engineer will:

  • Develop one's own knowledge and skills of forensic evaluation methods and procedures with help from Schneider Electric experts.
  • Develop and deliver training and mentor other engineers on forensic evaluation so that Consulting has a competent group of engineers trained in these skills
  • The Forensic Engineer role tasks include:
    • Coordinate with the Claims Management team and the project management team as needed to evaluate the status of equipment and provide recommendations on remediation actions
    • Provide quotations for work as needed.
    • Maintain a group of trained engineers capable of performing evaluations during periods of high case loads.
    • Participate in report reviews (commercial and technical) and serve as the final authority for approval of reports.
    • Communicate with the customer and other departments in Schneider Electric as needed.
  • Forensic engineer is expected to perform system studies engineer work, when available:
    • Onsite data collection of customer electrical distribution equipment.
    • Perform system studies to include short circuit, coordination, and arc flash analysis using ETAP software.
    • Present the results of the system studies reports to the customer.
    • Install arc flash labels at customer sites.

  • What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

    Minimum Qualifications
  • BSEE or MSEE
  • Experience with 3 phase power distribution systems.
  • 2 years' experience as an electrical engineer.


  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience utilizing SKM or ETAP.
  • Prior experience installing, commissioning or troubleshooting Power Systems control equipment (Field Technician or Field Services role)
  • Professional Engineers license (PE)


  • The position requires about 25% travel.
