Our experienced team of professionals offer multi-disciplinary expertise in the fields of environmental science, environmental engineering, sustainability, environmental management and permitting. The Environmental & ESG Delivery Team forms part of the wider Genesis Advisory and where required, our environmental professionals have access to over 800 multi-discipline engineers internationally (and extensive further support through the wider Technip Energies group).

What we are looking for

We are looking for an Environmental Study Manager; a role which combines environmental study preparation with line management responsibilities. The role requires knowledge and experience related to environmental assessment of onshore and offshore industrial facilities. Studies and assessments typically relate to major CAPEX projects as well as ongoing activities in support of existing sites.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing workload and resourcing in relation to a team of environmental professionals whilst continuing to work on projects to further their own technical development.

Reporting Lines and Interactions:

Reports to: Environmental & ESG Delivery Manager

Functionally Reports to: Environmental & ESG Delivery Manager / Project Managers / Study Leads

Directly supervises: a team of around 5 environmental professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will work as part of the highly skilled Environmental & ESG Delivery Team within Genesis, supporting a wide range of clients on varied and interesting scopes of work related to large scale industrial projects, operations and activities.

The role combines:
  • Providing environmental input to clients / projects through guidance and preparation of studies and assessments;
  • Leading environmental studies and projects, acting as the main contact on technical and commercial matters;
  • Collaborating with the wider Environmental and ESG team to plan and deliver studies and assessments;
  • Providing leadership and line reporting to a team of environmental consultants, engineers and scientists;
  • Development and retention of talent within their team; motivating team members to meet personal and business targets;
  • Interfacing with clients; and
  • Proposal input and preparation.
  • Liaison with Environmental & ESG Delivery Manager and other Environmental Study Managers to coordinate allocation of appropriate personnel across a range of projects (accounting for existing skills and learning opportunities);

Experience and knowledge of Environmental Modelling Tools to assess the impacts of emissions and discharges to the environment would be beneficial whilst not essential.

Studies and assessments may typically include:
  • Identification and interpretation of relevant environmental regulations and standards.
  • Planning for onshore and offshore permit applications.
  • Leading and participating in ENVID workshops (Environmental aspects Identification);
  • Development of environmental aspects and impacts registers;
  • Environmental modelling studies;
  • Environmental impact assessment; and
  • Best Available Technique (BAT) assessments.

Required Skills:

The successful applicant must
  • Have a degree in a relevant science, engineering or environmental subject.
  • Have knowledge of environmental legislation and standards;
  • Have project management experience on small to medium projects;
  • Have experience in client relationship building;
  • Be a strong team player;
  • Be well-motivated and able to work to tight deadlines;
  • Have excellent written skills with attention to detail.
