The Director, Polypropylene Marketing is responsible for managing business activities associated with Phillips 66's Polypropylene Branded Distribution business plus managing relationships with Non-branded Distributors /Resellers who purchase generic prime product. Incumbent is accountable for understanding secondary (generic prime) market price and supply/demand trends, cultivating customer relationships, and optimizing revenue contribution from all distribution and spot sales
contracts. This role requires frequent interaction with several internal groups, including Scheduling, Bayway Manufacturing, Legal, Treasury and Transportation.

Responsibilities May Include:
  • Develop, negotiate, and execute Polypropylene sales plan consistent with business strategy and operating plans.
  • Forecast and manage customer relationships with a sales network consisting of 2 Branded Prime Distributors, plus numerous Generic Prime Distributors and Re-sellers.
  • Develop tactical and strategic plans for optimizing returns from the Branded Distributors.
  • Determine and set pricing for secondary sales based on market conditions, year-end margin expectations and monthly monomer guidelines provided by Manager, Polypropylene and review all exceptions.
  • Analyze monthly distribution sales, margins, and freights provided by business analyst.
  • Develop and maintain sales contract management procedures and policies for all Distribution.
  • Adjust selling arrangements based on product availability.
  • Obtain proper approvals in accordance with the Authority of Limitations for new contracts and contract renewals..
  • Monitor sales contract expiration dates and take actions as appropriate.
  • Coordinate sales of all wide spec production, including the use of LIMS to post wide spec lots.
  • Provide timely and accurate communication including: sales forecasts, customer complaints, credit issues, market intelligence, etc..
  • Oversee and coordinates all export sales, if needed.
  • Work with Scheduling to assure best-case supply planning and distribution networks.

Required Qualifications:
  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Engineering or a related field.
  • 2 or more years of experience demonstrating proven ability to gather and analyze data, develop economics and draw sound conclusions.
  • 2 or more years of experience working with cross-functional teams, requiring interaction with internal/external resources to affect the outcome of the situation.
  • 2 or more years of experience demonstrating effective interpersonal skills with the ability to positively interact and establish relationships with internal/external customers, evaluate alternatives and make decisions based on sound business criteria.
  • Experience in at least one role which required effectively managing multiple priorities/issues simultaneously while driving results and delivering real business improvements.
  • Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Intermediate level proficiency in SAP S4, Power BI and other proprietary software and Internet applications.
  • Willing to travel up to 20% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master of Business Administration Degree.
  • 10 years of direct marketing/sales experience in the polymer industry.
  • Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure common understanding with multiple levels of management and varied cultures.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Background in refining or chemical/polymer processes.
  • Knowledge of polymer industry and channels of trade.
  • Planning and organizational skills are required in order to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledgeable about Polypropylene products and business.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Critical thinking skills to enable the identification or creation of new opportunities and to challenge current business.
  • Oriented towards continuous improvement.
  • Ability to balance short-term and long-term strategies and goals.

Midstream

Phillips 66's Midstream business is a safe, reliable and trusted logistics provider for the movement and storage of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 22,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities. We also provide the connectivity between the various Phillips 66 business units.
