Overview

We are looking for an Energy/Sustainability intern to join our team for a summer internship 6/3/2024 - 8/9/2024. uly. The internship is 40 hours during duration of internship and with a hybrid schedule. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of energy efficiency, building energy, mechanical systems and be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in mechanical, civil, electrical engineering or similar backgrounds. Our paid energy/sustainability internship provides an opportunity for students to gain practical experience in industrial energy assessment and work with the multi-skilled, interdepartmental stakeholders from departments such as sustainability, real-estate, and facilities to implement carbon footprint, energy, and cost reduction measures for our company.

Responsibilities

  • Assist team lead in Weatherford's Better Climate Challenge project (net-zero by 2050) in collaboration with the department of energy to identify no-cost, low-cost and capex projects/measures for energy and emissions reduction in manufacturing and service facilities in the US.
  • Join a sustainability team member on facility visits and perform facility walk throughs and assessments.
  • Analyze utility (electricity, natural gas, fuel) data and questionnaires to create a facility energy profile.
  • Create visualizations and summaries of identified measures to track progress.
  • Participate in progress review discussions with Corporate Sustainability Director and related Carbon Committees.
  • Support performance tracking efforts of applicable 3rd party groups supporting the project
Qualifications

• Entry-level experience with energy efficiency, and industrial mechanical systems.

• Enrolled in undergraduate or graduate degree program in mechanical, electrical, civil or a related field.

• Familiar with one or more data analysis and visualization tools such as MS Excel, Python, PowerBI, etc.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
