We are currently looking for a Welding Engineer, reporting directly to the Department Manager to join our team of Welding Engineers based in Lyon.

The jobs specific to the "Piping Equipment", "Materials" and "Welding" sections are very varied, but they all require interfacing with the other disciplines (process, HSED, equipment, general installation, instrumentation, civil engineering, estimating, works contracts, construction) and being involved with the project team (planning, cost control, doc control, project managers).
Within the department, you will also exchange with other Technip Energies centers, in particular the Indian centers, on challenging topics for the project.
About the position:
You will join the Construction department and report functionally to the Quality Control coordinator of the department.
On French and international projects for industrial facilities in the fields of gas, hydrogen, petrochemicals, chemicals and industry, you will act as a referent on all activities related to welding and non-destructive testing applied to onshore/offshore structures, electrical and process piping, pressure equipment, etc heat exchangers, storage tanks and other equipment/assemblies.
As a Welding Engineer, as part of the realization of projects you will have the following responsibilities:
On a regular basis, you will have the opportunity to make business trips in France and abroad to attend technical meetings with Customers or Suppliers, visit Suppliers' workshops, travel to other Technip Energies Operational Centers; Specific issues may also require site visits during the construction phase.

Qualifications: A minimum of five (5) years of experience, including workshop/field practice as a welding engineer/supervisor in the petrochemical and/or oil and gas industries. Other relevant experiences in other industrial sectors may be considered. You have a solid knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes for all types of contracts and you are able to work in a team and coordinate.
Languages: Fluent French and professional English
Be available to carry out short assignments in France and abroad.

- Analyze project-specific requirements for welding and non-destructive testing (NDT) activities, interpreting regulatory and statutory requirements, codes and customer specifications regarding fabrication, welding and materials.
- Write the technical specifications of the project,
- Participate in technical meetings and audits of suppliers/manufacturers;
- Provide technical support to other engineering disciplines during their requisition activities as well as to construction teams, particularly in the resolution of non-conformities
- Review supplier documentation (procedures, welding manuals, etc.)

- Appreciate teamwork but also know how to show autonomy and initiative
- Have a good analytical mind, a recognized ability to synthesize and good restitution skills
- Master the main computer tools and software for office automation, drawing and database; Any appetite for new digital tools and solutions is appreciated.
- Significant experience of at least 5 years in a similar position during which he/she will have been able to strengthen his/her knowledge around the following topics:
- Design and manufacturing codes as well as the European Pressure Equipment Directive
- Welding, Testing, and NDT Specifications
- Technology and selection of welding processes, welding procedure qualification and welder performance qualification;
- Fabrication of materials and weldability of unalloyed and low-alloy steels, high- and ultra-high-strength structural steels, austenitic, duplex and super duplex stainless steels, Ni-based, Cu-based alloys, etc. ;
- Weld overlay and dissimilar welding process;
- Forging, valve manufacturing, forged assembly and heat treatment processes;
- Conventional Non-Destructive Testing
- Typical manufacturing and inspection documents.

- Have ISO/COFREND Level II certification as well as experience in construction and field inspection activities (would be a plus).
