JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently recruiting for an onshore Pipeline Designer / Drafter to join our Pipeline and GIS team in the Brisbane office. This role is responsible for design of pipeline projects in Australia. This position will initially commence on a 12-month contract.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation of detail drawings from design sketches and other engineering data requiring design skill and knowledge
  • Evaluate and execute pipeline design deliverables on portfolio of work within schedule
  • Liaise effectively with other disciplines, engineers, and clients' representatives
  • Understand requirements of the design quality system and ensure that these requirements are met
  • Understanding of onshore pipeline components and requirements and performing design activities using GIS and AutoCAD systems
  • Prepare/design gas and water pipeline alignment as well as access tracks based on available GIS data and documents provided by the Client, strictly following the Client's design requirements, APGA CoP guidelines and AU standards
  • Prepare pipeline construction maps and alignment sheets based on the 2D Autocad/GIS design
  • Prepare and update location specific design drawings using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 to 3 year's technical diploma (or equivalent) with pipeline/piping design specific training or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 3-5 Years of experience in pipeline/GIS alignment design
  • Working knowledge of ESRI ArcMap 10.8, ArcGIS Pro
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software
  • Experience in design and producing digital maps using GIS software
  • Experience in reading and interpreting Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID's)
  • Familiar with Pipeline RoW design, special crossings, and tie-ins
  • A committed and professional team player with a positive attitude
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Experience in Oil & Gas industry
