Purpose
The H&S Officer is accountable for providing field safety services at the Jazan Integrated Gasification & Power Company (JIGPC). The incumbent is a key member of the JIGPC H&S Team and reports to the Personnel H&S Manager.
The H&S Officer is a highly interactive role for a health and safety professional. The position requires someone with practical industrial experience as well as a strong leadership and interpersonal skills. You will interface with a contingent of internal and external customers while proving H&S services to the assigned operating unit. The incumbent would provide direct field support on a broad array of activities specific to Worker Health and Safety and ensure employee/business compliance and alignment to JIGPC policies and all applicable legal/regulatory requirements.
Nature & Scope
In this roll, H&S officer encouraged to quickly become familiar with the JIGPC policies, internal and external customers and contribute to developing a self-sufficient safety organization at the world's largest Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle facility.
The incumbent will be responsible for promoting a culture of safe working habits, and improving safety performance. In addition, the incumbent will assist with planning, establishing, implementing and maintaining a wide variety of activities encompassing all aspects of occupational safety, to assure the highest possible degree of safety for our employees, contractors and the community in which we operate.
Principal accountabilities
Meet the goal of zero harm, at risk incidents/accidents to employees, contractors, and the environment by driving the implementation of EHS management systems and compliance. Coach and mentor O&M functions on H&S Issues, concerns, and questions. High Risk or unusual H&S activity consultation (confined space, hot work, sophisticated safety activities, etc.).
4.Company Safety Programs mentor and assessment.
5. Unit start-up support (initial training, standard implementation, compliance program development, etc.).
6. Provide H&S support to ensure compliance with Standards, Regulations and Corporate Policies.
7. Development of unit H&S improvement plans stemming from Assurance Audits, H&S assessments, and event trending.
8. Participate in incident Investigation, RCA's and assigned related to worker injuries and significant near misses and collect, verify, and report associated metrics.
9. Support maintenance/ contractor safety plans and participate in all facility maintenance outages and/or repair projects to ensure safety planning and safety execution are in line with a goal of zero injuries.

Minimum requirements and qualifications
Degree in safety, engineering or other technical undergraduate degree. An extensive field experience is preferred. A qualification in safety or equivalent experience (ASP, NEBOSH, etc.). Minimum 2 to 3 years proven track record with practical safety and health work experience in a chemical, petrochemical, petroleum refinery, or similar sophisticated facility where a significant number of hazards were present. Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, to influence and support a health and safety program for all customers. Demonstrated ability to work in matrix organization, across functional and reporting relationships. Advantageous to be multilingual e.g., Arabic and English. Leads by example with regards to following procedures and our highest priority of maintaining personnel safety. Possess a strong solid understanding of regulatory and industry standards and specifications. Proven experience in conducting hazard, operability and safe to operate reviews. Demonstrated experience in site auditing, assessment, and mentor. Ability to overcome obstacles to solve problems and achieve results. Can cope with pressure and work to tight deadlines. A personal dedication to safety values and objectives and towards a culture of continuous improvement.
Working conditions
Incumbent is encouraged to work on shift cycle - 48 hours a week on regular basis. Leave is subjected to Saudi Labor Laws.

JOB SUMMARY
