As a Data Scientist, you will combine mathematics, statistics, computer science, and domain knowledge to design and develop models that generate valuable business insights and improve decision-making. You will report through the Supply and Trading Center of Excellence (Trading COE), which primarily builds innovative solutions that create value for S&T.


In your first few weeks in this Data Scientist role, you can expect to:

• Be responsible for delivering data science solutions, business engagement and consulting, problem framing, and delivering in some capacity on other non-Data Science parts of the solution
• Build a good partnership with the business and design complex models around trading
• Develop your understanding of Commodity Markets, Supply Demand Balances, Trade flows, Market Arbitrage, etc
• Identify and frame opportunities to apply advanced analytics, modeling and related technologies to data.

To apply for this Data Scientist role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include:

• At least 2 years of optimisation modelling, including linear programming, mixed integer programming and heuristic optimisation
• Intermediate to Advanced Python and SQL coding
• Ability to prioritise opportunities by data readiness, business readiness, modeling difficulty and value to the organisation.
