Your role and responsibilities
As an SAP material specialist , you will be dedicated to the maintenance and improvement of our ERP data for material management (Material Master) manufacturing products for the Measurement and Analytics (PAMA) business segment in Quebec City. Working under the production engineering supervisor and reporting to the leader of the Manufacturing Methods Group, he/she is responsible for defining and updating our operational manufacturing Material Master for maintenance and improvement purposes. The SAP material specialist has an innate sense of organization, planning, and coordination, and highly values teamwork. He/she is proactive, a good communicator, and excellent at problem solving. • Maintenance: Material data architecture: Define and maintains SAP solutions for material management (Material Master - MM) and ensure alignment with other company software packages (Product Lifecycle Management - PLM - Windchill) and with other SAP modules (inventory management, warehouse, procurement). • Master emerging knowledge and practices regarding material management in SAP, bring new solutions to ABB and disseminate them throughout the organization. • Create and manage product data in SAP. Work closely with planning and production to keep material number information up-to-date. • Involved in the process of creating material and changing from engineering to operations. • Improvement: Coordinate, prioritize, and monitor the execution of mandates under his/her responsibility, in conjunction with the production line process specialist and his/her group leader. Participate in problem-solving efforts. Proactively escalate warrant enforcement issues. • Coordinate problem-solving analyses and change requests (engineering changes) by assessing impacts on product architecture and configuration management. Implement and communicate engineering changes to the various functions of the organization.

Qualifications for the role
- College or university studies in engineering (industrial, physics, electro-mechanics, or other) or business management.
- Proficiency in material management (Material Master) in a manufacturing management tool: ERP (SAP).
- Proficiency in Product Lifecycle Configuration (PLM) and tool management (e.g. PTC Windchill).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite collaborative tools (SharePoint), ticketing and case management tools (Atlassian JIRA™, or equivalent).
- Experience in project management or technical coordination, product architecture, production engineering, or continuous improvement.
- Lean 6 Sigma (L6S) yellow or green belt training is an asset.
- Excellent experience in a high-tech manufacturing field.
- Demonstrate a high degree of autonomy, a sense of responsibility, ownership, and intellectual curiosity.
- Collaborative, solution-oriented approach with strong spoken and written communication skills (French and English). French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
