What are you going to do

Join our client in a pivotal role overseeing financial management and reporting. The Assistant Finance Manager will be instrumental in forecast and budget planning while supporting the executive management team with valuable insights and financial advice.

Responsibilities:
  • Support overall finance requirements including closing, reporting, treasury, and finance projects.
  • Manage internal financial closing and reporting including monthly actual IFS system closing, monthly actual reporting in Cognos and providing info for OPR reporting, and quarterly forecasting and budgeting.
  • Handle audit and tax requirements for local external statutory and corporate internal audits.
  • Drive continuous improvement in internal controls and processes.
  • Conduct Internal Control Declaration (ICD) assessments and reporting.
  • Stay updated on accounting standards, ensuring compliance and communicating changes to the Finance Director.
  • Perform yearly internal transfer pricing reviews and prepare TP documentation.
  • Administer customer credit control through analysis, credit limit proposals, and maintaining customer credit files.
  • Support SEAPT Finance team and Regional FP&A team with compliance and reporting standards.
  • Lead IFS (ERP) testing, implementation, and deployment with SEAPT and IFS LEAP teams.
  • Deliver effective cash management through analysis, forecasting, and risk management.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality finance deliverables.
  • Manage key cost-saving initiatives and drive performance management.
  • Monitor business performance measurements and establish tracking systems.
  • Partner with non-financial managers and employees as needed.


Essential skills and knowledge

  • Graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
  • Extensive relevant audit and commercial accounting experience in a finance supervisory role.
  • Proficient in finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including GAAP and Australian IFRS requirements.
  • Familiar with accounting processes, SOPs, internal control guidelines, and standards.
  • Ability to address issues, effect changes, and adapt quickly.
  • Meticulous & Attention for detail in the analysis process.
  • Professional and objective perspective, capable of working under pressure.
  • Strong ERP (preferably IFS) systems experience, reporting and consolidation tools (COGNOS), Blackline, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Must be located in Melbourne and hold full working rights in Australia!
