Job: Mechanical Commissioning Engineer
Type: 12-month Contract - direct
Start Date: ASAP
Location: On-site, Edwardsville, IL
Schedule: 10-4 Flexible, 40-hour work weeks + overtime (1.5x)
Per Diem: $146/work day

Requirements:

• Candidates that come from Oil and Gas backgrounds
• Candidates can come from Powerplant AND Electrical background
• Candidates can come from Natural Gas and or Landfill Background
• Experience with commissioning Rotating equipment
• Experience with commissioning Compressor Stations
• Experience with commissioning Piping Systems
• Experience with reading and understanding equipment manuals (minimal training needed)
• If they have mechanical engineering Degree (5years exp)
• If they have no degree (10 years exp)
• Minimal PNID Training if needed - not preferred

Responsibilities:

• Commissioning RNG plant
• Commissioning Rotational Equipment
• Commissioning Compressor Systems
• Commissioning Pipping Systems
• Reading and understanding equipment manuals so not training needed
• PNID Training if needed
• Instrumentation commissioning
• Controls commissioning
• Will need to conduct meetings to report and document
• Will need to use ARC Flash software
• Ensure all commissioning activities adhere to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards applicable to RNG facilities
• Maintain detailed records and documentation of commissioning activities, test results, equipment performance, and any modifications made during the process.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues or deficiencies during commissioning, working to resolve problems and ensure systems meet performance expectations.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors involved in the installation and commissioning of mechanical systems to resolve issues and ensure smooth operation.
• Perform functional testing of mechanical systems and equipment to ensure they operate according to design requirements and performance standards.
• Conduct pre-commissioning checks and inspections to verify that mechanical equipment is installed correctly and ready for functional testing.
• Develop commissioning plans and procedures specifically for mechanical systems, outlining the sequence of testing, functional checks, and acceptance criteria.

Certifications:

• OSHA 30
• Arc Flash Software
• Any Commissioning Certifications: CCP, REP, PMP (not required but preferred)
• CPR/First Aid
