About the Role

Manage the delivery of utility-scale wind, solar, and BESS assets, overseeing both commercial and technical aspects from the receipt of planning permission through to commercial operations. Lead a team of experts in their respective fields.

Responsibilities

• Project Management: Oversee the delivery of assigned wind and solar farm projects, managing both commercial and technical aspects from development consent through contracting, construction, and into commercial operations. This role is supported by the BayWa r.e construction and legal teams.
• Support Sales and Acquisitions: Assist with project sale activities alongside the Corporate Finance team in Munich, and support project acquisition activities in the UK and Ireland through electrical diligence or project management as needed.
• Strategic Planning: Participate in the overall strategic direction and planning for BayWa r.e's activities in the UK and Irish markets.
• Tender Process: Draft tender specification documents and support the review and assessment of tender responses.
• Best Practices: Contribute to enhancing BayWa r.e's best practice methods, valuation processes, knowledge management, and internal tools and templates.
• Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders regarding project needs and goals.

Qualifications

• Technical, Commercial, and Digital Skills: A blend of technical, commercial, and digital expertise.
• Educational Background: Degree in civil, mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Post-graduate experience in the construction aspects of the UK renewable energy sector.
• Contract Knowledge: Understanding of the structure, content, and operational requirements of standard construction contracts, including FIDIC Yellow or NEC 3.
• Team Coordination: Experience managing input from colleagues, external advisors, and contractors across various technical, financial, and commercial areas.
• Site Management: Experience liaising with a Site Manager or Resident Engineer to support project delivery.
• Negotiation Skills: Commercially and financially astute with experience in handling challenging negotiations and disputes.
• Problem Solving: Organised and pragmatic, with the ability to find solutions to complex problems.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at building strong, cooperative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project goals.
• SHEQ Experience: Experience in managing projects with a focus on Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ).
