Wood is looking for a National Construction Representative with experience in oil and gas projects planning; materials takeoff, drawing field verification, prefabrication coordination, field execution for turnarounds and small base business projects. The postholder will provide oversight of skilled labor for field construction activities.
This role is open to Equatorial Guinea nationals only, based on a 6 month fixed term assignment of a 28x28 rotation

RESPONSIBILITIES
Construction Management
- The postholder will work closely with Projects and Designs Engineering groups in assessing and progressing project readiness for site activities
- Verify job packs, regulatory permits / approvals, material status, project control mechanisms, project execution plans, budget and manpower resource levels are in place and appropriate to support the successful completion of site activities (safety, quality and schedule)
- Manage and control site execution of project works in accordance with project execution plans
- Coordinate and manage site project support requirements by other CVX groups (Ops, Maintenance and other contractors).
- Ensure conformance with project designs and standards.
- Ensure project quality plans are established and that work products conform to quality control norms.
- Identify and resolve work site related problems, with assistance from FE Construction Lead, Maintenace Coord, POP or other CVX groups as required. The position is responsible for several projects.
Project Planning
- Provide interface with Operations for work permitting and input into contractor selection and contractor administration from bidding of site work through to completion of site works
- Responsible for schedule, progress and reporting of site works into planner
- Verify contract administration (progress measurement, timesheet approvals and payment milestones) through assigned contractor construction resources with support from FE Construction personnel and Construction Lead
Personnel Management and Development
- Provide the day to day oversight of 6 - 8 positions of Construction Specialists along with multiple contractor construction supervisory staff
- Work with Construction Engineers and Construction Specialist to ensure complete understanding or work requirements
- Devote time to mentor and train new / less experienced Construction Group personnel in oil / gas field equipment and materials, construction practices and safe working practices
Safety and Environmental
- Ensure safety considerations are incorporated in the work planning and execution
- Ensure applicable EG NMA safety instructions and PTW systems are followed during construction
- Ensure systems are in place to make sure that EG staff and contractors' staffs are aware of and adhere to NMA and industry safety requirements
- Manage contractor safety program in compliance with NMA requirements in support of FE and Mid Africa
- Participate in incident reporting and investigations
QUALIFICATIONS
- Mechanical Engineering Degree or Architectural Degree
- Extensive experience in similar construction planning projects within the oil and gas industry
- Ability to read P&IDs, mark ups, walk down construction jobs and conduct inspections
- Hands on experience on leading a wide range of multidisciplinary projects of mechanical, structural, instrument and electrical nature
- Applied experience and demonstrated proficiency in offshore production operations, engineering, small projects development and execution and SIMOPS management
- Experience in deepwater, gas processing, and/or major capital projects is a plus
- Previous operations leadership experience is preferred
