RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electronic testing devices.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly and building systems operate efficiently.
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
- Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain from storeroom.
- Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, fit test and background check
