About the Job
  • Act on behalf of the Engineering Department Manager in his absence & under his delegation, managing the department activity.
  • Participate, as required, in engineering and managements meetings.
  • Lead / be a part of the Engineering design team working on onshore or offshore feasibility, conceptual, basic engineering, FEED, detailed design and EPC/ EPCM projects.
  • Perform Engineering activities and review activities carried out by Engineers, Designers and CAD Operators.
  • Liaise with other departments, clients, vendors, subcontractors and third parties.
  • Participate in inter-disciplines, project, client and vendor meetings.
  • Perform all Inter-discipline check
  • Prepare scope of work, manhour and cost estimates for proposals.
  • Groom young engineers and provide advice to peers in his field of expertise.
  • Being also a Principal Engineer, who is a technical specialist, has the added responsibility to act in a consultancy role, providing advice and carrying out specialized engineering tasks.
  • As a Lead Engineer on project, he is also responsible for the following:
    • Advise the Department Manger the manpower and skill levels required to ensure smooth execution of the project.
    • Assign work to the team appropriately.
    • Conduct meetings at regular intervals with team members to review progress and share the lesson learnt & typical issues.
    • Overall responsible for the manhour & schedule monitoring and control and quality of the work produced.
    • Organize and maintain project technical filing and archiving.
  • Primary involvement in a typical project includes:
    • Perform Engineering simulations / calculations including heat and material balance; thermal design of exchanges; hydraulic calculations of piping networks and pipelines, blow down studies etc.
    • Perform piping, equipment and instruments (control valves and PSVs) and selection of control scheme.
    • Prepare equipment and instrument datasheets.
    • Prepare PFD, UFD & P&IDs
    • Provide input into other discipline deliverables like: SAFE and Cause and Effect charts
    • Prepare line list and tie-in list.
    • Prepare Engineering equipment.
    • Develop Engineering design basis; operating and control philosophy; isolation philosophy and safeguarding memorandum; relief and blowdown philosophy
    • Develop Pre/Commissioning manual and Operating manual.
    • Prepare performance test procedures

About You
  • Bachelors Degree or higher in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum Level II Professional Engineering License from the Engineering Council of Thailand (if any).
  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience for senior and fifteen (15) years of experience for principal in Process engineering design in the Oil & Gas, Refineries, Chemical, Petrochemical or related industries. Experience should cover at least eight (8) years of engineering design with Engineering Consultant.
  • Knowledge and experience in Upstream/Downstream technologies
  • Highly motivated and strong leadership quality.
  • Familiar with API, ASME and relevant standards and design codes
  • Familiar with typical Engineering simulation packages; HYSYS or Pro II, HTRI, Flarenet, Flaresim, Pipesim, Pipenet, Flowmaster.
