Your role and responsibilities

This position is available in the North America Market (NAM) to drive Indirect Sales (Channel Market) for the Excitation Business for ABB. You will be primarily responsible for planning and ensuring the implementation of the Excitation strategy to achieve both qualitative and quantitative targets for systems, products, and services in a profitable manner. You will be responsible for leading the Sales organization of the Excitation Business in the allocated region proactively, to exceed the sales targets through high performance and to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Our partners include System Integrators, Distributors, and Value Added Representatives. The Excitation Sales Coordinator is to expand and refine the partner business plan to drive revenue for the ABB Excitation products family and Services business within the US, Canada, and Mexico markets. The Excitation Sales Coordinator will leverage technical knowledge with his/her sales experience to add new partners who can support opportunities within the growing Energy Industries and Process Industries using ABB's existing Business Plan. You will continuously monitor performance with Channel Partners and System Integrators in the assigned territory. Main Accountabilities: - Focus on growing Product Sales for Unitrol 1000 and Synchrotact via Indirect Sales Channels. Additionally, seek Sales Representatives in collaboration and alignment with the PAEN Account Management teams. - Identify the excitation white spots and business potential, supporting the local units in prioritizing the sites to be addressed. Track, support, and ensure the local unit reaches the target KPIs for the related initiatives. - Monitor the overall sales pipeline with periodic reports and identify outside business opportunities in the HUB. - Contribute to sales negotiations and negotiate frame agreements, create offers, and proposals with the help of the NAM Regional Director. Targets: - Coordinate sales for any new requests outside the core focus of UN1000 product sales. Handle direct requests on a case-by-case basis together with the Excitation Sales Manager (UN6000/Megatrol Projects). - Manage the Annual Pricing Strategy with the local BL and Feeder factory. - Drive Channel Partners Performance Management: Identify, evaluate, and support new potential channel partners per agreed ABB policies and standards together with the Channel and Sales Manager. - Facilitate and coordinate technical support for our customers and channel partners with support from Feeder Factories and Local Excitation COEs. - Be based in the US (preferably Houston, TX) with minimum training required in Montreal, Canada. - Regularly report progress against channel strategy, plans, and budgets. Conduct analyses on channel activity and take ownership for solving problems.

Qualifications for the role

  • Preferred qualifications:
  • We are seeking a candidate with a Bachelor's degree, preferably in electrical engineering, power electronics, or equivalent experience. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in sales of solutions and services in the power generation utilities sector, with specific experience in power generation or Excitation projects. Previous experience in the Excitation business is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills are a must, as is fluency in English comprehension and writing. Proficiency in Spanish is considered a plus. The role requires a willingness to travel across the allocated region countries and a valid driver's license. The ability to travel 25-50% of the time is necessary.
  • Experience in managing clients for 4-5 years and overall sales experience in Industrial Automation is a plus. Familiarity with Channel Partners, System Integrators, and Industry Experience will also be advantageous.
