We are currently hiring for an Explosives Supervisor, based at our Dowlow Quarry, Buxton

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a flexible, proactive and versatile approach to work. You will have an energetic "hands on" approach and the ability to anticipate problems and consider a solution and the ability to negotiate and work collaboratively with colleagues on both a formal and informal level.

It is essential that you have a strong understanding of shot firing operations. The role will involve face profiling, marking out shots, designing the blast specification, safe transfer and storage of explosives. You will also be responsible for ensuring the charging and firing of production shots and liaising with the driller

This position is ideal for a highly motivated, hard-working person with a positive attitude. A genuine interest in the construction materials industry and a commitment to continuous personal and professional development.

The Group places the highest importance on sustained standards of excellence in all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental management and you will be expected to contribute to the Company's zero harm culture.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

You will have gained your NVQ level 3 in shot firing and your MPQC shot firing/explosives supervision card.

Although not essential, it would benefit to have quarry passports and tickets for: 50T loading shovels, and 40T articulated dumpers.
