We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with experience in hydropower equipment for our client based in Norway.

Our client is a leading pan-Nordic consulting firm headquartered in Norway, with nearly 140 offices across Scandinavia. They specialize in integrating engineering, architecture, and digital expertise to tackle projects of all sizes for both private and public clients.

Their comprehensive services span from initial consulting and feasibility studies to detailed design, environmental assessments, construction management, and ongoing operational support for hydropower facilities. Additionally, their global presence and projects in various sectors underscore their expertise in architecture, building and property, digitalization, geosciences and environment, industry, renewable energy, safety, society and urban planning, transport, and water.

Key Requirements:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering.
    Experience specifically with projects involving hydropower equipment.
  • Proficiency in condition assessment and strength calculations of hydraulic steelwork, applicable to both new installations and existing equipment.
  • Familiarity and experience with lifting equipment and miscellaneous steel constructions, along with possession of a heavy vehicle forklift driving license. (T1-T5 or Class C1 and C2)
  • Knowledge in breakdown analysis, material evaluation, and quality assessment, among other relevant areas.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required, with a focus on hydropower equipment and related fields being particularly beneficial.
  • Proficiency in both English and Norwegian languages is essential for effective communication with international and local stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in consultancy roles within the hydropower industry is advantageous, demonstrating the ability to provide expert advice and solutions.
  • A strong understanding of business principles and practices in the context of hydropower projects, including budgeting, project management, and client relations.
  • Excellent social and communication skills, essential for collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
  • Customer-oriented approach, with a proven track record of delivering solutions that meet or exceed client expectations in the hydropower sector.


  • Requirements:
    • Should be located in Sandvika, Trondheim, Stavanger, or Kristiansand.
    • Expected to travel 1 or 2 times per month for a few days. Longer relocations are possible for certain projects but not required.
