Position Overview:

We are seeking a Principal - Transmission Planning Utilities with expert experience in transmission planning and interconnection, to execute on key deliverables and act as a technical lead or project manager. This role is accountable for ensuring excellent execution, technical oversight, client management, staff development as well as supporting business development.

Candidates who are high performers, organized, agile, and adaptable will be successful in this role.

• Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
  
  Management and Operations:
  
  • With an expert level of understanding of various parts of the North American power system, you will support transmission engineering managers and individual contributors for planning, studies, modeling, and automation etc.
  • Ensure for the team's timely completion of a portfolio of projects while meeting project quality and budget objectives.
  • Provide guidance, knowledge, and experience to electrical engineers performing power system steady state, short circuit, dynamic stability, and electromagnetic transient studies.
  • Develop team resource utilization and revenue forecasting to keep the team on track to meet billable hour and revenue targets and ensure effective hiring/resource management.
  • Promote process improvement efforts to enhance efficiency.
  • Maintain EPE's high client satisfaction.
  
  Business Development Support:
  
  • Support responses to RFPs and development of Scopes of Work
  • Participate and coordinate industry involvement through conferences, speaking opportunities, and engagements.
  • Support and manage key customer relationships
  • Travel:10% of the time may be required

Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills:

• Exceptional understanding of project execution, team, and time management with a track record of proven success
• Strong people skills, with ability to draw confidence, ensure technical accuracy, and maintain client satisfaction
• Independent critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to keep multiple projects and client engagements active at once
• Ability to be effective in a dynamic, quickly changing environment with the ability to navigate uncertainty
• Proven team player skills with ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent business, and technical writing
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's or advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 7+ years of experience in power systems engineering roles
• Experience or familiarity with PSS/E, TARA, Aspen, and other transmission analysis tools
