Job Summary

The HVAC Instructor may be required to participate in off-campus recruiting and promotional activities and supervise students in off-campus intern positions. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to classroom and lab instruction of basic refrigeration theory, heating, ventilation and air conditioning classes. Provide professional leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum, advise and recruit students, attend graduation ceremonies, participates in professional development activities, maintain inventory of equipment and supplies, and work with the various administrative functions of the college. Performs other related work as assigned. Teaching assignment may include day and evening classes. The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) instructor reports to the Business and Industrial Technology Department Chair. Position has excellent benefits package, paid sick leave, and retirement.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate of Applied Science Degree in HVAC or similar field from an accredited college. Three years of recent repair and maintenance in the field or/and relevant teaching experience. Experience may be substituted for education in some cases.

Preferred Qualifications

Five years of recent experience in the field. Knowledge of Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations rules and regulations regarding air conditioning and refrigeration contractors and technicians.
