JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is recruiting a Talent & Development Manager (Australia Asia Pacific) to join our Operations business. Based in Perth CBD, this is a permanent role and is available as a full-time / part-time (job share) basis.



Reporting to the Vice President - Talent & Development, you will be responsible for developing and executing the business grouping talent, development, and performance development strategies and programs across APAC, ensuring that individuals with potential for future roles are identified and prepared for the future needs of #teamwood.



As a key member of the Human Resources (HR) Leadership Team, you will work closely with the regional HR business partners and leaders to ensure the provision of specialist expertise is delivered in response and aligned to business needs. Energised and engaging, your leadership and expertise will drive the delivery of the HR strategy in all aspects of succession management, leadership development, employee development and performance development.



Supported by the VP HR and VP Talent & Development your role with have a high degree of influence:

  • In your area of expertise, often interacting directly with the Leadership Team to achieve business unit talent goals.
  • To high impact talent at the senior leadership levels and will require specialised knowledge of leadership, psychology, and psychometrics, as well as regulatory frameworks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary focus of your role will be Wood's Operations business unit; however, your expertise will extend to support the delivery of Talent & Development agenda in the APAC region and across all three business units - Consulting, Projects & Operations.

Leadership:

  • Responsible for leading the business grouping people development team and the programs and services that support both the regional and business line people development strategy and objectives.
  • Setting business grouping strategy and action plans for people development congruent with the broader Wood organisation, that encompasses succession management, leadership development, performance management, coaching, mentoring, career management, and change management.
  • Consulting with and ensuring effective engagement of business stakeholders on talent development initiatives.
  • Contributing to the creation of talent and development strategies, policies, processes, systems and tools through the functional reporting line to the relevant Talent Development Director.

Advisory

  • Providing expert advice and guidance to Operations President, business grouping leadership, and HR community in all areas related to talent development.
  • Delivering services as appropriate through partnerships with HR leaders and their teams.

Succession Management

  • Facilitating identification, review, and confirmation processes for successors and high potentials.
  • Leading process of identification and development of future bench strength and the implementation of any related global tools / processes.

Leadership Assessment & Development

  • Analysing leadership development needs and designing interventions accordingly and facilitating the use of established global assessments instruments.
  • Assuring development plans are in place for select cohort of high potentials and successors.

Learning Content

  • Design and develop learning content for leadership, interpersonal and business critical skills.
  • Liaise with external vendors to identify and procure learning content and development support relevant for the business.

Facilitation

  • Managing business grouping delivery of, and facilitates, both global and business grouping specific development programs and team effectiveness sessions.

Peformance Development

  • Supporting implementation of global Performance Development philosophy, encouraging conversations to support performance in current roles and development for career progression.

Employee Development

  • In conjunction with Business Grouping and global needs, guiding the creation of employee development initiatives.

Coaching & Mentoring

  • Providing global toolkits, consulting advice, and project management of related programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

You will be able to work lawfully in Australia and hold full working rights for this location. If you have a visa application in progress, you are also encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree qualification or equivalent experience in Organisational Development, Learning, Human Resources or Coaching. HR Qualification preferred.
  • Proven experience in a similar role with 8+ years of relevant talent management / people development experience, including leading at least 4 years of experience leading a team.


In addition, you will:

  • Have proven experience building robust capability, appropriate succession and effective talent development programs across multiple business units, regions and functions.
  • Be an articulate communicator (both written and verbal) with an ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and groups, presenting data in a clear and logical manner, coupled excellent facilitation and professional presentation skills.
  • Have advanced consulting skills, with an exceptional ability to build relationships, collaborate and influence a network of stakeholders in a large matrix organisation.
  • Be skilled in administering and debriefing psychometric tools (e.g., 360 feedback, personality).
  • Have proven experience driving innovation and change initiatives, focused on improving quality outcomes that deliver on expectations and strengthens relationships.
  • Have a working knowledge and proven experience in Instructional Design in line with Adult Learning Theory and practices.
  • Have a wide professional network and proven experience of partnering with relevant external vendors.
  • Be a leader of people, capable of influencing, coaching and engendering an entrepreneurial spirit of cooperation to energise diverse teams to adopt best practice, with safety at the heart of everything we do.
