Reporting to the Head of Offshore Wind, the Renewable Energy Commercial Manager focuses on the growth of revenue in the Offshore Wind Sector. This includes supporting the growth and development of new business via targeted sales campaigns, proactively identifying new opportunities, and nurturing growth of existing clients. The Renewable Energy Commercial Manager will work closely with the Sales team and various stakeholders within RS Group to achieve agreed targets and objectives, as well as to develop coaching relationship and have influence over the development of sales capability across our UK sales matrix.

What you will be doing:

  • Nurture and develop relationships with the key organisations within their relevant Offshore Wind clusters.
  • Ensure a presence at all local events and establish a network of key contacts who can support and influence the success of our journey within this sector.
  • Determine the Tier 1, 2 3 and 4 contractors within the supply chain within their specific geographical location.
  • Complete in-depth market research using various channels - such as social media, networking opportunities, CRM package, and by working with other internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for new client acquisition or client development within the sector
  • Securing long term partnership with our client base by developing advisory relationships, providing them with market knowledge and gaining understanding around the objectives and opportunities that ESG Solutions could support with short - and long - term
  • Manage and proactively identify opportunities from inception to close, as well as managing sales pipeline - input and output
  • Client profiling and planning to generate clear activity plans for sales activity as well as pro-active identification of client business needs
  • Execution and management of pro-active sales campaigns into the agreed sector, territory, or client set, to generate meetings and sales opportunities to meet revenue and gross profit targets
  • Development of new relationships within nominated existing and potential clients by sourcing new appropriate contacts, securing meetings and sales opportunities
  • Preparation of accurate, timely and current reporting to the Renewables Director. This will include revenue and gross profit forecasting, opportunity pipeline information, etc.

What we are looking for from you:

  • Knowledge of the Renewable Energy Industry, specifically within the Offshore Wind Sector.
  • Significant experience in an Account Management or Sales role preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills together with an engaging communication style.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to develop set your own agenda and work independently in a national field-based role.
  • Equipped with high quality commercial skills, able to make sound and well considered commercial decisions regarding business opportunity and risk.
  • A personal desire to achieve growth in this industry in support of the increasing concern around climate change.
  • Capability in business planning and project management
  • A proven track record in successful negotiations and contract delivery
