Role Purpose:
  • The Pipefitter is responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing piping systems on a nuclear infrastructure site.
  • This role requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and ensuring the integrity of piping systems critical to the operation and safety of the nuclear facility
What you'll be doing

As a Pipefitter, you will have the following accountabilities;
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to determine pipe layout.
  • Assemble, install, and maintain pipes, valves, and fittings.
  • Cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand and power tools or machines.
  • Weld, braze, cement, solder, and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures specific to the nuclear industry.
  • Conduct pre-installation safety checks on equipment and materials.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper ventilation in work areas.
  • Participate in safety drills and emergency response procedures.
  • Inspect piping systems and identify issues such as leaks or wear.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs on piping systems.
  • Test piping systems for leaks and ensure they meet regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, welders, and other site personnel to plan and execute pipefitting tasks.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure clarity and precision in operations.
  • Document pipefitting activities and maintain accurate records as per site protocols.
  • Ensure that all pipefitting work meets the quality standards and specifications required for nuclear infrastructure.
  • Perform pressure tests and inspections to verify the integrity of piping systems.
  • Identify and correct defects and discrepancies in piping installations
Who we're looking for

The following qualities/experience are essential:
  • Experience as a Pipefitter in an infrastructure environment
  • Hold correct industry grade card
  • Ability to achieve BPSS
