Asset Planner

Full Time

Permanent

Salary - up to £48,169 (depending on experience)

Location - Leat House, Washington/home working blend

We're open to discussing flexible working

About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Wastewater Tactical Planning team at an exciting time as we progress into our ambitious Asset Management Programme 8 (AMP8).

This role will see you report to the Wastewater Asset Manager acting as the central point of contact for any issues which are identified in our wastewater treatment or wastewater network assets.

This means you will partner with our operations teams and other key stakeholders to interpret the risk and benefits of the identified issues, developing scopes for cost estimate requests and progressing them through our investment optimisation tool, Copperleaf.

You will be responsible for developing project briefs that outline the asset need, root cause, service, and performance risk. In addition, you will take responsibility for cost benefit assessments to develop recommendations that maximises value.

Therefore, a focus of this role is using your communication skills to inform stakeholders appropriately. This includes asking questions to develop your own knowledge and understanding which will allow you to challenge in a positive manner.

Our team of Asset Planners consistently manage changing priorities due to the fast-paced environment they work in.

About you

We're looking for the successful candidate to have proven experience of working with a range of stakeholders with strong communication and influencing skills. The ability to build good working relationships within your own team, with departments across the business and with supply partners is essential.

You'll be comfortable interpreting a wide range of information and have excellent analytical skills which you have used to interpret complex data and produce accurate written reports. Therefore, experience of using Excel and Word is essential.

You will have a flexible approach to planning and managing your time effectively to meet the needs of the team owing to the changing priorities. This means you will use your initiative to challenge, ensuring that our activities and plans deliver maximum value for the business.

It would be beneficial for you to have asset management experience or qualification and knowledge of wastewater network or treatment processes. Knowledge of an engineering discipline would be beneficial. However, this isn't essential as we provide training and support to help build your knowledge.

We are keen to hear how you can join our team and make a positive difference.

This role has also been defined as a safety or security critical role and as a condition of a formal offer of employment you'll be required to undergo a drug and alcohol test.

Prospective employees and agency workers in defined safety and security critical roles will be required to undertake a drug and alcohol test after the job offer has been made. This will be prior to or within four weeks of their start date.

Prospective employees and agency workers who fail a pre-employment urine drug screen will have their sample analysed by the Company appointed laboratory as a matter of course. Failing a pre-employment drugs or alcohol test may lead to the job offer being revoked

Please note this role may require a DBS to be completed prior to employment
