The Engineering Project Manager holds responsibility for overseeing every facet of engineering project execution throughout the development stage of the program lifecycle. This encompasses managing scope, schedule, cost, technical aspects, risk, and quality, with support from Technical Leads (TLs) and Individual Contributors as needed.

Hybrid 3 days/week on-site (Tues-Thurs). Optional remote Mon and Friday.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Generating Program Demand: The individual is responsible for creating demand for the program, which involves understanding market needs, aligning engineering capabilities, and working closely with technical managers.
  • Leading Integrated Product Development Team: This involves coordinating the efforts of different team members from various disciplines to ensure cohesive project progression and meeting project objectives.
  • Strategic Direction: Providing strategic guidance to the engineering team to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Customer Interaction and Contract Management: Working with the Program Manager on customer interactions, including negotiations, and managing project scope and costs effectively.
  • Control Account Manager: Overseeing the financial and operational aspects of the project, with the ability to delegate tasks to ensure efficient project management.
  • Advanced Judgment and Problem Solving: Utilizing advanced judgment to address operational, manufacturing, and engineering challenges, and innovating solutions beyond standard parameters.
  • Decision Making: Leveraging a broad range of sources for informed decision-making and influencing others with complex ideas.


Required Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: At least 8 years in technical or project management roles, demonstrating a capacity for leadership and strategic project management.
  • US Citizenship: Due to the nature of the work involving U.S. Government contracts, this role is restricted to U.S. citizens.


Desired Characteristics:
  • Project Management Certification: PMP certification or equivalent is preferred, indicating a formal understanding of project management principles.
  • Leadership and Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Adaptability and Learning: A willingness to learn and take on new challenges, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Problem-Solving and Influence: Skilled in resolving complex issues and influencing others to achieve objectives.
  • Project and Program Management: Experience in leading and managing projects or programs, with a competency in planning and execution.
