Purpose of Job:

You will be joining a growing advisory team with opportunities to work in the growing Energy Transition team and contribute to the transition of global energy systems. The position is part of the consulting and advisory team based in Paris.

Within Genesis, you will carry out conceptual and detailed analysis of complex energy systems and develop associated methods and tools to unlock value for customers, make breakthrough projects happen, improve engineering and delivery processes. Your inputs will be key enabler for supporting strategic decisions of our clients, helping optimizing Energy industry and delivering solution to walk to net zero carbon.

As part of the role, you will have the chance to:

• Carry-out techno-economic analyses for energy transition projects (renewables, CCUS, hydrogen and derivatives, decarbonisation, biofuels, etc.)
• Perform engineering analysis to identify optimal solutions based on client drivers and be able to efficiently communicate these solutions through technical reports and presentations
• Imagine & support the development new digital tools to improve our performance or deliver added-value to our clients
• Consolidate results and methodologies within sound deliverables
• Liaise and interface with consulting, engineering, business and digital teams as well as external partners
• Deliver results to client and contribute to establishing long lasting commercial relationships
• The work performed will be varied and activities include independent advisory, feasibility and conceptual studies, and operational support activities often with direct interface with the Client.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Performs advisory work as defined by project. in accordance with Genesis and project quality requirements.
• Controls relevant discipline engineering activities to ensure completion of safe and operable design in accordance with Genesis and project requirements, relevant laws, regulations and codes.
• Reviews job scope and provides estimates and schedules.
• Communicates regularly with Client / Study Manager to ensure objectives are being met in a timely manner.
• Reviews all relevant discipline data.
• Interfaces with other engineering disciplines.
• Develops engineering strategies, philosophies and procedures.
• Participates in project presentations to communicate results.
• Reviews all data requested by Client for approval.
• Participates in safety, environmental, operational and design review meetings, where necessary.
• Provides support to younger engineers and mentor assigned personnel.
• Participates in Genesis global knowledge sharing initiatives within their engineering discipline.
• Participates in Genesis global data strategy
• Capacity to lead small discipline engineering teams and/or lead small projects.

Qualifications & Experience:

The job holder must have the following:

• Minimum education: master degree (or international equivalent) in a subject relevant to the energy transition: electrical, process, renewables.
• Minimum 2 years industry experience with preferentially some experience front end studies specifically (previous experience in a consultancy, design house, engineering contractor or operator environment).
• Multi-competence experience is an advantage
• Experience in typical relevant technical process engineering software

Required Competencies:

The job holder must have the following proven competencies:

• Working language for the role is English, which is essential as there is a high level of interfacing with international offices and clients (minimum TOIEC level 850).
• Good command of other languages is an advantage.
• Good report writing, communication and social skills.
• Good computer literacy with particular competence in MS office software.
• Ability to explain discipline engineering concepts in a straightforward manner

Working Conditions:

• The role is based in Paris, in the new state of art Technip Energies campus in the La Défense business area on the outskirts of Paris.
• Genesis France operates a hybrid office / homeworking model offering flexibility & autonomy to employees.
• Consultant can be asked to travel regionally for short periods. The role could involve working for short periods in client offices to start up projects and build client relations.
