About Beaumont

With a population of more than 118,000, Beaumont ,Texas, is located in the Gulf Coast region of the United States, on the Neches River, about 85 miles east of Houston, the nation's fourth largest city. Beaumont has been a home to the oil industry from the days of the Spindletop oil boom until today, and along with nearby Port Arthur and Orange, is part of the Golden Triangle industrial area on the Texas Gulf Coast. What role you will play in our team

We are looking for Mechanical Crane & Rigging Technicians at our Beaumont, Texas Refinery. Crane & Rigging Technicians are responsible to safely complete all types of lifting, rigging, load handling, transport and equipment operation to support maintenance activities.

What you will do

  • Adhere to all manufacturer's recommendations and operator manuals to ensure safe operation of various types of lifting equipment.
  • Complete job assessments to verify crane size, access, ground conditions, and clearances prior to set up.
  • Interpret lift plans, rigging diagrams, design drawings, plot plans and load chart information.
  • Select, inspect, assemble and connect rigging equipment in compliance with Site policies and procedures.
  • Identify adequate configurations/capacities for manual rigging equipment and support structures for the intended load.

About you

Skills and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Maintain NCCCO Crane Operator certification with TLL and/or TSS designations or
  • Maintain NCCCO level 2 Rigger or NCCER Advanced Rigger certification.
  • Ability to use critical thinking skills to identify and solve problems.
  • Effective written/oral communication to manage multiple tasks with limited direction.
  • Willingness to assume roles and responsibilities of a crane operator or rigger to meet scheduling requirements.
  • Willing and able to work overtime as required
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively develop, communicate, and implement plans
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment, including working toward team goals
  • Able to identify and mitigate job and/or safety hazards
  • Performs position in a manner that demonstrates professionalism, knowledge, understanding, and commitment for health and safety of oneself, others, and the surrounding communities and environment

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

  • 5 yrs. Crane & Rigging experience in an industrial setting.
  • Experience operating, assembly/disassembly of Broderson and Tadano cranes from 4t to 160t.
  • Experience in manual rigging activities (chain-falls, jacks, come-a-longs, etc.).
  • Knowledge of ExxonMobil Crane & Lifting Tier 1 Best Practice requirements.
  • Signal Person certification.
  • Straight mast and telescopic boom forklift operation.
  • Aerial lift operation.
